The Free Land of Lower Morrow is a newly independent country. The scenery is scarred by many years of devastating industrial use, however, schemes are now under way to restore the once beautiful country. There is a mixed population; around 30% are black while the majority is of European origin. The Europeans were imported to work the many beef farms as slaves however slavery has now been abolished and all men are once again equal.

History

Lower Morrow was an abandoned barren wasteland for many thousand years until it was settles by tribes from Zambia in the 6th century AD. The population grew steadily but modestly until the 17th century. In 1603 King Mugu of Zambia realised the advantage of such an strategically placed colony and formally annexed the land. Poplulation then increased rapidly for while before the great drought of 1689. There were many profitable copper mines in the colony but the Zambians were reluctant to work in the terrible conditions. In 1700 the first boatload of slaves arrived from Scapa Flow. In all about 4 million slaves were imported until 1856 mostly from the British Isles and Holland. 1887 saw Lower Morrow becoming a protectorate with limited self-goverment and democracy was introduced. However only the black minority had the vote. The Whites, while no longer slaves were continually oppressed and discriminated against.

Now the people have overthrown the corrupt goverment of President Guyman and implemented a new and democratic goverment. It will actively try and reverse the policies of the overthrown which greatly burdened the nation and caused it to be the poorest in the region.
