Maanenian is the official state language of Maanenland is is spoken widely in rural areas , it's usage amongst city dwellers is dwindling with many prefering to use English or Dutch , the other two official languages. The ancient Maanenic language is a hybrid of several languages.

Alphabet

Under the Languages and Information Act. 1788 the official alphabet used is standard 26 letter latin , however it is still common to see archaic letters such as wrn (see diagrams) , thz and mnm but these tend to be used for historic effect rather than in common usage.
