Madero Cabello
Nation: Nabarro Abarca
Function: Capital
Population: 26,240,000
Leader: Mayor Magdaleno Caballero

Madero Cabello is the capital of Nabarro Abarca. It is the largest city in the entire Commonwealth of Peoples. Located in the province of Tehuantepec in the southern part of the nation, Madero Cabello is surrounded on most sides by towering but currently inactive volcanoes.

Madero Cabello was originally founded as a single municipality. However, as the urban area grew around the Castillo de Madero and the other centers of imperial government, the broader metropolitan area came together in one megalopolis with Madero Cabello in its center. In 1951, the entire area was incorporated into one single municipality of Madero Cabello and made an imperial city, governed directly by the Nabarran Government and the Constituent Cortes and not considered part of any province of the empire.

Madero Cabello is home to well over twenty million residents. However, the city takes up a relatively large land area and is not nearly as densely populated as some cities of comparable size. In fact, some arid hills and ancient ruins south of the main urban area are considered to be part of the city, although their population is essentially negligible.

Madero Cabello has a vibrant local culture which blends the Vasconian Indian and the Spanish heritage of the nation. Because of its size, its rich culture and its position in the Commonwealth of Peoples, Madero Cabello is fast becoming a popular place for international tourism.

History

The original native city of Tehuantepec was built on an island in the middle of what is now Cabello Lake. According to native mythology, the first inhabitants were led there from an ancient home to the north by a great eagle sent by the Creator spirit to guide them to their destiny. Because of the city's location, they were forced to build a series of artificiaul islands and dikes in order to expand.

The modern city of Madero Cabello was founded by the Spanish after their conquest of the natives. The city rapidly became the administrative center for the entire colony. In 1628, when Nabarro Abarca became an independent empire and Agustín de Habsburgo established his base of operations in the Castillo de Madero, just outside the city, it became the official capital.

In 1951, the entire modern city was formally incorporated for the first time and freed from any provincial authority. It became an imperial city and thus all the rights and responsibilities of provincial government were given directly to the Constituent Cortes although administrative responsibility still belonged to the mayor.

Colonias

Madero Cabello is divided into many colonias or neighborhoods. While the colonia has no official administrative attributions, they are the most popularly recognized subdivision of the city and the colonia in which an address is located will always be included in the posted address.
