THE GOVERNMENT

Malibu Islands has recently held elections to appoint government officials.

ELECTION RESULTS

On Sunday, 24th July, 2005, Prime Zeus declared elections open. Voting ended on Thursday, 29th July. All members of Malibu Islands were entitled to vote once in each category. Turnout was an estimated 22%.

President

Prime Zeus was elected President by 8 votes to 2 over Yaziman.

Vice-President

Samurai Hiko was elected Vice-President by 6 votes to 5 over Keisuki.

UN Delegate

Waynetoria was elected UN Delegate by 8 votes to 3 over Happy Euphoria.

Secretary of State

Zania Jaarda was elected Secretary of State by 7 votes to 2 over Volerian.

Secretary of Foreign Affairs

Periusistan was elected Secretary of Foreign Affairs by 7 votes to 2 over Chaundra.

Secretary of Commerce

Pamkhaos was elected Secretary of Commerce by 6 votes to 4 over Kinesrra.

Further Appointments

In four further categories, nations ran unopposed, and as such automatically gained appointment to government positions. They were:

• Pasta Land to Secretary of Defence.
• Happy Euphoria to Secretary of Recruitment.
• Gruenberg to Press Secretary.
• Samurai Hiko to Speaker of Nations.

The Cabinet of Malibu Islands government has now been established:

Zania Jaarda is Chair of The Malibu Islands Republican Party.

Manifesto

On the 29th July, 2005, Zania Jaarda announced the statement of beliefs of the MIRP:

The Republican Party supports capitalism, patriotism, and democracy. We believe in wholesome Christian value. However we also recognize that times are changing and we can or can't take the bible to the extreme. Taxes are for commies and liberals. We also believe in support our chosen leaders whether they are Republican or not. The Army should be big, strong, well equipped, and concentrated in a few places.

SOCIALIST

Yaziman is Chair of The Malibu Islands Socialist Party.
