Marani
The Marani is a large indigenous people in Baranxtu, Cikoutimi, Otea and westernmost Jonquiere-Tadoussac. The Marani are further split up into about 40-50 tribes, of which six, however, make up the majority of all Marani.
All Marani speak a descendant of Akes Mersanint, and in the last years a huge attempt was started to introduce a Standard Akes Mersanint as a new lingua franca for the Marani.

The Eagle Tribes
The Eagle Tribes (Standard Akes Mersanint Meimei Separuira) are those tribes that worship the eagle god Separui as there supreme deity.
Mekukami
The Mekukami (also Abasi) are one of the smalles Marani tribes. They live in the north of the Baranxtuan province Abasina and stand at about 1,600 members today.
They used to be the predominant force in Abasina, but where later subdued by the Daunini.
The Mekukami pose a serious problem for the inner peace of Baranxtu today, as many members are openly hostile towards the neighboring Phip and riots are quite frequent between the two groups.

The Wolf Tribes
The Wolf Tribes (Standard Akes Mersanint Meimei Kintambera) are those tribes that worship the wolf god Kintambe as their supreme deity. Although they are made up of only two tribes, they are the largest subgroup of the Marani.
Jjiri
The Jjiri (also Anieri) mainly live in the Baranxtuan provinces Abasina, both Doristas and especially in Jiria. In number they are second only to the Cikoutiens and the Qiri, having about 54 million members.
