Notes
Liga Starblaydia Defender of the Year, Season 2, AOCAF7 & 8 Winner

Matthew Tobias, strangely, has never played for Starblaydia in a senior World Cup match of any sort, be it Qualifiers or Finals. He had the distinct un-luck to be much younger than players such as Jean-Pierre Durand, Jamie Majeed and Tommas Piper, yet much older than the next 'batch' of defenders such as Martin Watt and Valentino Caltabiano.

Because of this, his international career 'only' took him to three AOCAFs (6, 7 & 8). He did, however, pick up medals at all three, including the privilege of lifting the 8th AOCAF Trophy, as captain, on behalf of his nation. A Runners-Up medal at AOCAF6, and two Winners' Medals from AOCAF7 and 8. For AOCAF8 the designated Team Captain was Goalkeeper Fernando De Marco, who was playing in his 5th AOCAF, in a career stretching over two decades. De Marco, however, suffered a horrid injury when his wedding ring caught on the crossbar of the goal against Nojika in the first match, ending his tournament. Angelos Prokopsis was promoted to the starting 'keeper spot, while the Captain's armband was handed to the most experienced member of the team, Tobias himself. Matthew went on to Captain Starblaydia with pride, finishing up lifting the AOCAF trophy, to add to the other two Starblaydia had alreday won.
