Media outlets in Casari are a combination of Government sponsored and private Television and Radio stations.

Television

Broadcast Television in Casari is operated by three seperate groups- The Government sponsored CasariTV, and their privately funded alternatives the Casari Broadcasting Alliance and National Broadcasting.

CasariTV

CasariTV was founded by national charter over 60 years ago in order to stop the airwaves in the Confederation from being overrun by foriegn programming.

  • Casari1- Originally founded and known as CasariTV, Casari1 is the flagship channed of the government network and is broadcast throughout the entire nation. Casari1 features a number of nationally popular soap operas, dramas, and comedies, along with morning and late night shows and national news programs. In the sixty years since it's founding, Casari1 has been the only station to possess a 24 hour broadcast schedule. While other networks have 24 hour programming as well, it is only available for users with cable or sattelite. There is a cable channel, Casari1+1, which rebroadcasts Casari1 programming on a one hour delay, except in special situations.
  • Casari2- Casari2 has similar programming to 1, except for a few vital differences. Instead of National news, 2 features more local and regional news and programming, although prime time is still used for television shows popular on a national level.
  • Casari3News- Casari3News is a 24 hour news station focusing on Local, National, and World news, especally important foriegn events such as elections and wars, and how they might affect Casari.
  • Casari4Sport- Casari4Sport is a 24 hour sport channel, including live and tape delay broadcast of both major and minor sporting events, along with results of major domestic and worldwide competitions. It's main news and analysis show, WorldSport, occasionally gets ratings in excess of national news programs and less than a point below some of the most popular prime-time programs.

Casari Broadcasting Alliance

The CBA was founded 4 years after CasariTV began, when several large radio stations joined together in an effort to expand their business into television. The CBA is able to field a selection as wide as CasariTV's, but is usually viewed as a close second due to it's heavier reliance on commercial sponsorship.

  • CBA- The CBA's main station is just known as CBA. The format is extremely similar to the main CTV stations, with lots of entertainment programming interwoven with local and national news programs.
  • CBA News- CBA News is a competing National and World News station. CBA News is said by most to have much more complete coverage than C3N does, while people tend to trust the station more as it reports without any government funding and any danger of a "government slant". CBA in the past has used this reputation to it's advantage, managing to beat C3N about half the time in ratings.
  • CBA Sport- Virtually identical to C4Sport, the CBA version tends to focus on the major domestic sports more than it's competitor, only bringing up foriegn sports around championship time.
  • CBA World- Exploiting the CTV mandate to promote Domestic television, CBA World takes the best programs from foriegn nations, translates them if necessary, and then broadcasts them to a new audience. Oddly enough, the network has better success with foriegn shows that are more understandable but less popular, instead of the international prime time blockbusters it promotes.

National Broadcasting

The third corporation to get a broadcast liscense, NB only has 2 networks with a mix of local and regional programming. Despite being the smallest, it makes the greatest profit by far, as CTV and CBA both try to outspend each other while NB manages to find excellent programming overlooked by the other two networks.

  • NB Red- National Broadcasting Red, while posessing some news content, skews more towards comedy and drama programming. While it has many popular shows, it's best programming is it's late night programming.
  • NB Blue- Similar to NB Red, it has some entertainment programming, but skews more towards sport and news programming. Not as popular as NB Red, fans still consider NB Blue to offer much better coverage due to it's focus on spending more on less.

Radio

The major players in Casaran Radio consist of the major television players, plus a number of smaller corporations.
