Mercutio was a striker for the Starblaydia national football team, though never broke into the starting eleven (save for the Perusa Invitational Tournament in Trotsgrad) he was included in three straight World Cup squads.
His international career peaked in the Starblaydia Under-21s when he was top-scorer for Starblaydia for World Cups 18 and 19, where Starblaydia's youths were kicked out in the Quarter-Finals of both tournaments, with Mercutio netting three times each in those competitions - which included a hat-trick against Lovisa in U21WC19.
Mercutio's desire to remain in Cockbill Street to play his football certainly hindered his career, both in terms of quality of opposition on a daily basis, as well as being out of the public spotlight back home.
