Mikitivity at the Second Summer Olympics
The Mikitivity Olympic Confederation Committee sent a delegation of 129 entries (with team entries counting as one entry) to the Second Summer Olympics to compete in 89 unique events to represent Mikitivity. The Olympic Confederation Committee set a goal of surpassing the nation's previous single medal from the First Summer Olympics. To accomplish this goal, a larger delegation was sent to the games. For the most part, many of the athletes from the previous games returned to represent their nation. Some of these athletes entered multiple events. Britta Krieg represented the nation in 5 different events, setting a record as the athlete to represent Mikitivity in the most number of events.
Mikitivity's first gold medalist, David Kopple, was originally invited to serve as flag bearer at the Opening Ceremonies. However, Kopple turned down this honor, favoring a more visible symbol of the nation. As with previous Olympic games, Mikitivity Bahn and Eule Fluglinien announced that they would provide free passage to and from the games for any athletes from the International Democratic Union on the airline's Olympic Carrier airship.
