According to the Constitution of The Holy Empire of Edvardus, the military is not legally able to be in an offensive position in international territory. Within the empire, the military is only allowed to fire upon enemies if first fired upon or as an urgent pre-emptive measure (e.g. when an enemy attack is imminent).

Military Police

The Military Police (MP) is directly subordinate to the General Staff, which in turn answers to the Minister of National Guard and the Prime Minister.

Organisation

The MP is divided into the following components, from largest to smallest:

  1. Field Army (commanded by a General):composed of a headquarters, army troops, a variable number of corps, and a variable number of divisions; a battle is influenced at the Field Army level by transferring divisions and reinforcements from one corps to another to increase the pressure on the enemy at a critical point; consists of 2 corps
  2. Corps (commanded by Lieutenant Generals): composed of 60,000 men each; currently there are 2 corps, the Western Front Military Police Corps and the Eastern Front Military Police Corps and is made of 5 divisions each
  3. Division (commanded by Major Generals): composed of 12,000 men each; currently there are 10 divisions; consists of 4 brigades each.
  4. Brigade (commanded by Colonels): composed of 3,000 men each; currently there are 40 brigades; consists of 5 battalions each.
  5. Battalion (commanded by Lieutenant Colonels): composed of 600 men each; currently there are 200 battalions; consists of 5 companies each
  6. Company (commanded by Company Commanders): composed of 120 men each; currently there are 1000 companies; consists of 4 platoons each
  7. Platoon (commanded by Lieutenants): composed of 30 men each; currently there are 4000 platoons; consists of 3 squads each
  8. Squad (commanded by Staff Sergants): composed of 10 men each; currently there are 12,000 squads
  9. Fire team: composed of 3-4 men each

There are 10 Military Police Schools throughout the empire, 40 District Commands (one for each brigade), and 270 Regional MP Offices.

Coast Guard

The Coast Guard Administration is headed by the Minister of National Guard and three deputy ministers. The agency is divided into two major directorates.

Organisation

  • Maritime Patrol Directorate General: Responsible for all maritime patrols and operations at sea.
    • 1st - 16th Offshore Flotillae
    • Northern, Southern, Central, and Eastern Flotilla Sectors
  • Coastal Patrol Directorate General: Responsible for land based operations, primarily the patrolling of harbors, beaches and other coastal areas.
    • Northern, Southern, Central, and Eastern Coastal Patrol Offices
