Biography

Momoko Aurelia Hanasaki is the Princess of Aurono. Because her mother, Princess Yoko of Imperial Japan, was the first member of the Japanese royalty to marry a non-royal and non-japanese, the royal families of Japan and Aurono split and Momoko became the first Princess of an independant royal family of Aurono. However, her parents were assassinated when she was only eight years old, during a visit to Los Alamos, were the Aurono Self-Defense Forces carried out a nuclear project that was opposed by many foreign powers. She survived, because she had caught the flu and had to rest in bed in the palace. When she was 13, she officially took over government business and had to struggle hard against the various factions at the court who tried to keep power with themselves. She succeeded and has reigned the nation of Aurono since. He reign stands under her choosen motto: "All should come together as One People", which became the nation's motto.

Policies

Human Supremacism

Momoko had always been a strong opponent of Human Supremacism, a variant of Specicism, the ideology that one sentient species is superior to others in all respects. In Aurono, not only had whites, latinos, blacks and native americans been seen as inferior to Japanese, but also Non-Humans had been considered inferior. Racism had officially already been stopped by her parents, though the higher classes remained somewhat closed-up to Americans. The Human Supremacism policies, however, were in full progress. Especially harsh policies were mounted against Symbiotes, who where not de facto seen as inferior, but rather seen as a threat on which control must be maintained. This involved implanting monitoring, Nerve stapling and self-destruct chips into the brains of Symbiotes and regular abduction of Non-Humans for experimentation in Alcatraz. When Momoko came to power, she immedeately stopped the research at Alcatraz and turned Unit 741 into a civilian medical research institute. However, many where unhappy with this choice, and the Syndicate incited revolt amongst the members of the unit. Many members of the now-illegal unit turned over to the Syndicate following the transformation, or became mercenaries. This happened at about the time shortly before PHOENIX launched its attacks. Today, Alcatraz is both a prison and a military hospital.

Aurono and Kurona

Early in the establishment of the region Sudeki, Princess Momoko was looking for friends to support her small neighbourhood. She began to search for regions that tended to similar politics, and also to regions that where totally different, to learn from them. The first region she found was Xanadou, and she contacted the region's founder, Kurona. A good relationship has developed between Aurono and Kurona. The nations exchanged ambassadors and the Princess travelled to Onsen recently, but the RP thread remains uncontinued.

Aurono and Kotaka

When Aurono had still been a territory of Imperial Japan, Kotaka was considered as nothing more than another community of the Independant Midwest. When Muro took control of the Syndicate, he led a military force into the nation to establish his base there. After Muro had been killed during the StarFire Crisis, it was for the first time the two nations felt a little close, because they had just defeated an enemy to them both. After the StarFire Crisis, many people became infected with D-Virus, and were thus oppressed by the Human Supremacism, which was still prevalent in Aurono. They fled to Kotaka. The nation of Kotaka was later occupied by the organization PHOENIX, which wanted to deal a death blow to META by turning the F-Virus into a carried for D-Virus genetic material, thus forcing Daodan hyperevolution in entire Sudeki, overwhelming META's oppressive capacity and possibly infecting many of META's personell as well. They also occupied The Island for that and freed NeRo. However, their plan was spoiled by Ryu.

The Neutral Alliance

Princess Momoko considered the region of Sudeki, which she led, to be too small to survive on its own, seeing all the powerful regions around her. Therefore, she had the Foregin Ministry look for a suitable alliance. Because she did not want the nation to firmly hold up any ideology it could later be held up to, she choose to attempt to join the Neutral Alliance. This alliance was quite small, consisting only of three nations at the time - The Shin Ra Corp, Southfar and The Sith Clan. Leafanistan declined to join, but supported the alliance and gave it its main territory, The Island, where . Anagonia, too, expressed support, but declined to join. The alliance seemed dead when Aurono applied for membership. Soon after Aurono became a member, another nation, New Brittonia, declined to join, so the alliance remains small, with only four members and two supporters, to the present day, and the thread is not very active.

Human Supremacism

The traditional viewpoint of Aurono towards Non-Humans was Human Supremacism, a variant of Speciecism. Under Momoko, Human Supremacist policies were scaled back: Unit 731 was prohibited from experimentation on Non-Humans (and humans as well) without their consent. Of course, this course was not well met with everyone: The Syndicate, Aurono's mysterious shadow government, was strongly opposed, and also incited a rebellion within Unit 731 in the unit's headquarters on Alcatraz. Still, Momoko pushed through with legislature and today, all sentients are - at least formally - equal in Aurono. Still, many members of the upper classes of society hold up the old Human Supremacist view.
