Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of more then 200 million are kept under strict control by the oppressive government, which measures its success by the nation's GDP and refers to individual citizens as "human resources."
The nation of Monkey - Maniacs was established by Fsilio Hovto. Together with his folowers, he invaded the land, at that time inhabited by the Hapdu people. He crowned himself to king and civilised the inhabitants of his new country. The nation was named Monkey - Maniacs, after the demon monkey that lived in the forests and was feared by the Hapdu people. The demon monkey can still be seen a lot today and is still considered to be holy.
The nation of Monkey - Maniacs has a governement of small size, leaded by General Braes. The country has a history of lots of civil wars and political betrayal. General Braes has seized the power in the nation of Monkey - Maniacs by a military coup. Hereby he ended the rulership of King Mbogo, who was king of Monkey - Maniacs for 23 years. Altough often speaken of as being corrupt, the governement does not tolerate any kind of crime. General Braes has introduced very strict laws, wich has made a lot of normal things, like most sports, prohibited. All the laws are published in the National law book "Monkey laws" wich consists of 14 parts.
The religion in Monkey - Maniacs is not free of choice. The government considers a disunion in religion a weakness in the unity of the nation. Therefor, the entire population is considered to be Christian, wich was the religion of Fsilio Hovto.
In contrast to religion, Monkey - Maniacs has 5 different official languages. Dutch and English have been spoken since the establishment of the nation. Hindi was the language, spoken by the Hapdu people and is still present today. There is also a small Latvian and Fklaazj speaking part of the nation, this due to influences of the nearby nation Boudra-Boudra.
