Overview

The Moral Alliance was founded by Archbishop Veracos, with the blessing and full cooperation of the Holy Empire of Sidestreamer in reaction to what was perceived as the "moral decline" of global political and social discourse, highlighted by the massive international acceptance of Imported ViZion's successful defeat of a same-sex marriage block (link). Originally intended as a political-economic support group, the Moral Alliance was established to "defend Christian and Moral principles worldwide, establishing governments, regions and cultures that enforce Christian culture" (link).
While a few nations supported this stance, the mission statement written by the Moral Alliance's founder, Archbishop Veracos of Sidestreamer has offended enough secular nations for one to take the initiative to found the Secular Nations Union (or the SNU) for the purpose of creating an economic bloc against the Moral Alliance. To survive the hostilities, the Moral Alliance quickly evolved into a full political alliance, complete with an offensive and defensive pact as well as a evangelical and economic arm.

Charter

Note: The Charter, as worded, pertains to the Moral Alliance's forum as well as the alliance itself, so keep this in mind when reading such references.

The Moral Alliance is a economic, military, and more importantly spiritual alliance for all nations wishing to defend the Christian faith in NationStates, both within their own territories and abroad.

To join

Your nation must have a Christian government or a stance that values the principles of Christianity, including the Christian stances in such controversial issues as marriage, abortion, and medical research involving the unborn. Members are initiated by either Sidestreamer or by Jagada (the two admins to this site), and all members of the alliance are, by Sidestreamer or Jagada, assigned to the member group "Allies" upon registering into this forum.

Non-members of the alliance are also encourged, though not required, to register to this site. Keep in mind that registering to this board does not equate to joining the Moral Alliance. To join, you must either request for membership in the Inquiries forum or on the thread titled "Creating the Moral Alliance" at the nationstates forum. Do NOT telegram us for membership. Our inboxes are limited in capacity and we reserve telegram use at nationstates for urgent issues only.

Decorum

Section 1

Each nation is encouraged to trade with each other at discounted rates or for barter within the Market. Combining our industrial strengths, the Market is also available for the creation of multi-faceted or complex technologies, products, defense items or other commodities.

Section 2

When requesting for immediate military support, state the nature of the conflict, the enemy or enemies in question and post the thread where the conflict is taking place. If it is determined that the enemy or enemies are the aggressors and humanitarian violations or anti-Christian motives are found in the actions of the aggressors, the Moral Alliance will unconditionally place a declaration of war against the aggressing party and all members are compelled to provide defenses, in any form possible.

Section 3

When requesting for military support for elective wars or wars where you are the aggressor, state your case for starting the war in a war proposal, and submit it for a vote. In order for the vote to take place, a 4-member quorum, one of members including either Sidestreamer or Jagada, must be met.
In the vote, the implications of faith must be considered and the voters should consider the war as a defense of Christians or the faith. A war based on conquest, the desire to commit genocide initiated by a member, or for other inhumane or un-Christian motives will not only be rejected without a vote, but may also be grounds for expulsion from the Alliance and, at the discression of religious leaders worldwide, excommunication of the national leadership from their respective denominations.
For the resolution to pass, 50% + 1 must support the resolution for war. If the resolution passes, the Moral Alliance will unconditionally place a declaration of war against your target and all members are compelled to provide defenses, in any form possible.
If the resolution fails, individual nations are allowed to aid the nation making war, provided they act independently of the Moral Alliance. Any attempt to claim that they are acting on part of the Moral Alliance when that is not the case shall be grounds of expulsion from the Alliance.

Section 4

Any and all humanitarian and Christian crises should be noted and reported by the Alliance members to the Alliance as they are observed. We may, depending on the severity of the action, take humanitarian, economic or military counter measures, pending a vote.
