The Museum of Consumerism in Rêvane
</div>

The Museum of Consumerism is located in Rêvane, Ariddia. Ariddia's is not a consumer society, making consumerism an entirely foreign concept, with its own dedicated museum. The Museum offers a historical look back at Ariddia's pre-socialist days, but also presents an overview of consumer societies around the world. It seeks to explain the ideology, economic tenets and mechanisms which form the bases of consumer societies, and takes a particular interest in advertisements, and in societal encouragements towards "wasteful consumerist spending".

Exposing the negative aspects of consumerism - societal dislocation and selfishness, disregard for the environment and for working conditions behind cheap production, for example - the Museum clearly tows the socialist government line. It also, however, offers a glimpse into the materialist lifestyle in consumer societies, showing the wide variety of products enjoyed within those societies, while inviting visitors to reflect upon the reasons why consumerism has been rejected in the PDSRA.

The Museum strenuously denies that its purpose is one of propaganda, arguing instead that it aims to be objective, informative and thought-provoking.
