NSWiki:Nation page creation
Step by Step
This is an template to be used to create a new Nation page for the NationStates Wiki. To create the page for the nation follow the steps below. You might want to open this page and your new page in seperate windows to make following the steps easier.
Step 1
Click the 'Edit' button at this top of this page. In your browser window you will see the location of this page. You will need to change 'NationTemplate' to the name of your nation. If your nation name includes any spaces you will need to replace those with an underscore (_). Open a new browser window and paste the entire address you just edited into the address bar of the new window and press 'Enter'. This should take you to a new editing window.
At this point you should save your nation for the first time by clicking 'Save Page' at the bottom of the new browser window.
Step 2
Press 'Edit' again and paste the entire contents of the NationTemplate into that window. This should include some code at the top (Infobox_Nation) as well as this text. To do this click at the top of the 'Editing NationTemplate' edit box, left click, and move your mouse until all the text is highlighted. Then click 'Edit' on the top of your browser window and then 'Copy'. Switch to the browser window with your new nation, click in the edit box, and then click 'Edit' at the top again and 'Paste'.
At this point you should again save your nation.
Step 3
Edit your nation page again and make it your own. Start by changing all of the information in the 'Infobox_Nation' section to match that of your nation. If you have a map of your nation replace the address with the web address of the map, if you don't just change it to 'No Map' or similar.
Once you have done this go ahead and erase all the 'Step' text. At the bottom you will see a group of entries that start with 'In Brief'. Below that line put a single paragraph description of your nation. Then go down to the 'Nation Description' entry and put a nice long description of your nation under that section. You do not have to use these sections but it does help to keep things nice and uniform for the reader.

Make sure to save the page frequently and copy the text to Word, Notepad, or a similar text editor to make sure it isn't lost if something happens. You can also use this to spell check your entry.
