Defaultia (3/0/0)

Sysophood granted by Goobergunchia 22:04, 26 Sep 2004 (GMT) Voided due to inactivity by Goobergunch|? 23:33, 20 Apr 2005 (GMT)

Defaultia has been one of the earliest NSwikians and has written (or at least begun) many important articles, such as Moderator, Region, and Region crashing. Defaultia has also provided us with the temporary logo. --Goobergunchia 20:36, 19 Sep 2004 (GMT)

I Accept :-P Defaultia 23:19, 19 Sep 2004 (GMT)

  1. As in nomination Goobergunchia 20:36, 19 Sep 2004 (GMT)
  2. I think I'm allowed to vote for my self... Defaultia 10:34, 20 Sep 2004 (GMT)

Comments/Questions 3 users have voted for. There are currently 5 in NSWiki. I think that that means that I'm in! I'd like to thank Goobergunch for making this wiki. And East Germany for voting for me. Defaultia 21:34, 23 Sep 2004 (GMT)

Knootoss (10/4/0)

Granted provisionally by Goobergunch|? 20:17, 7 Oct 2004 (GMT) and confirmed by Goobergunch|? 12:03, 11 Oct 2004 (GMT)

I'd recommend Knootoss --Frisbeeteria 01:55, 4 Oct 2004 (GMT)

Heh. Thanks ^_^;;;; - Knoot 08:44, 4 Oct 2004 (GMT)

Support

  1. I support. He's active and a good contributor. Crimmer 12:42, 4 Oct 2004 (GMT)
  2. Knoot accepts the nomination.
  3. What Crimmer said, very active and very helpful edits. Also very helpful on IRC. --Goobergunchia 16:34, 4 Oct 2004 (GMT)
  4. Meh. My vote belongs in the tally for Knoot. --Frisbeeteria 18:04, 4 Oct 2004 (GMT)
  5. Def votes for. --Defaultia 23:34, 4 Oct 2004 (GMT)
  6. Diablo_NL votes for Knootoss. He has so far done a great job. And if he screws it up I can always go by and punish him. ;) Diablo NL
Edits by User:82.156.36.49 count towards validity of User:Diablo_NL's vote. --Goobergunch|? 23:23, 10 Oct 2004 (GMT)
  7. I support Knootoss. If the CACE clique is so worried about his free-market bias, why don't they nominate one of their own, like Xiukang, for sysop? Syskeyia 6:39, 10 Oct 2004 (Central Time)
  8. Go Knootoss!. Iuthia 00:30, 11 Oct 2004 (GMT)
  9. K-stan says "yea" to Knoot, even if he is Dutch.  :) K-stan 7:53, 10 Oct 2004 (EST)
  10. The Serene^Union gives a thumbs up to Knootoss. Kaenei
Only other edit by this user is on NSwiki:Logo candidates - however, it takes a good deal of time and effort to make a logo. --Goobergunch|? 00:06, 11 Oct 2004 (GMT)

Oppose

  1. I am against; K is not neutral and incapable of being neutral. --Pudding
  2. As much as I am a friend of this individual, I would think it may be wiser to find a less controversial player who's made it a point never to cross anyone on purpose. --Galdago
  3. This would alienate a great many people from NSwiki. No. Rehochipe
Apart from a few political enemies (who I've yet to see as active NSwiki contributors), who exactly would this alienate? That's an awfully large position stated in awfully few words. - Frisbeeteria 22:54, 10 Oct 2004 (GMT)
  4. I can see, actually, whom this would alienate and discourage from becoming productive contributors to the NS Wiki project. Nothing personal, but Knootoss is a nation that not many would consider seperable from nation-based biases. I find I must vote no.TJHairball

Comments/Questions

  • Knoot: Well, I'm not sure how to count the votes here (I'd say Frisbeeteria counts as 'pro' too. The lesson of Florida: when in doubt, count the votes in your favour ;) Anyway I'll just wait untill people come and complain about my inherent bias and incompetence.
Meh. I don't count the nomination as a vote, but I'm for letting Frisbeeteria vote - when I nominated Defaultia, I immediately voted "1. Goobergunchia As in nomination". --Goobergunchia 16:34, 4 Oct 2004 (GMT)

You are too kind ^_^ *is a happy elf] now*

  • Since it seems particularly pointless to wait a proper seven days, I'm granting Knoot provisional sysop status now - however, the vote will remain open for the full seven-day period and this status can be revoked if there's a shift in the voting margin. --Goobergunch|? 20:17, 7 Oct 2004 (GMT)

  • I'm not sure I'm really keen on the idea of someone who can pointedly indicate on his Jolt Forum Profile that his occupation is "emotionally harassing SeOCC" is the kind of individual that should be moderating a site where you're probably going to be having a lot of contribution by the CACE community, of which myself and SeOCC are a part. There's a clear wedge between much of the CACE and former SATO/WBO entourage that, should either of the polarized members of those parties become moderators of the NSwiki site, might compromise an impartial view of the NationStates world should any one of them get... shall we say... as "childish" as that profile entry? --Galdago
  • 8:44, seven day period is over. I'm closing the poll. Full statement later. Knoot 08:44, 11 Oct 2004 (GMT)

Frisbeeteria (6/0/2)

Sysophood granted by Goobergunch|? 16:24, 17 Oct 2004 (GMT)

Frisbeeteria has been one of the most helpful members of NSwiki, having re-categorized, infoboxed, and just been really darn good at getting articles spiffy in the trifecta of the main, NSwiki, and Category namespaces. --Goobergunch|? 23:49, 10 Oct 2004 (GMT)

I accept nomination gratefully, thanks. -- Frisbeeteria 23:51, 10 Oct 2004 (GMT)

  2. Despite the fact that he killed my dreams of an omniscient weapons database... I vote for Fris. He knows his way around, and he didn't go postal over me putting up 20 pages an hour.  :) K-stan 23:59, 10 October 2004 (UTC)
  3. Goobergunch reminds me that it is legal to vote for oneself. - Frisbeeteria 00:03, 11 Oct 2004 (GMT)
  4. I think he would make an excellent Sysop. Great contributions. Active, intelligent and cool-headed. Thumbs up. Only makes sense. Knoot 00:09, 11 Oct 2004 (GMT)

Comments/Questions

  • Just a request - could people please remember to update the vote tally when they vote? Thanks. --Goobergunch|? 00:12, 11 Oct 2004 (GMT)
  • May I suggest that Frisbeetaria is also given preliminary powahs? Just a thought, since he seems to be heading for clear approval here and I can think of a few instances today and yesterday where it would have been useful for him to have it. Knoot 16:04, 11 Oct 2004 (GMT)
  • Fris : I realize that not many people know me as a player, so I've compiled a list of some of the topics I've been either principal author or a significant contributor. Some of these, like Sirocco's Language of NationStates posts I've merely transcribed and Wikified. Others, like Gameplay and Halls of Memory, germinated as ideas on the forums, but grew into what you see here. Hope this helps.
Frisbeeteria Θ 16:22, 11 Oct 2004 (GMT) -- (Knoot, I can wait. No rush.)

Rechze (4/0/0)

Sysophood granted by Goobergunch|? (warning) on 21:43, 14 Dec 2004 (GMT)

Made many useful contributions, and is one of the not-so-many users looking beyond the border of their own articles and making generally useful improvements and contributions where the opportunities present itself. I think this user has the willingness, as well as the capabilities, to make a good sysop. -- |Knoot|KNOOtalk 21:37, 7 Dec 2004 (GMT)

  • I've been quite pleased by this nominee's performance as a wiki community member, but I'm concerned by the relatively low number of edits, as well as timing issues. The Wikipedia standard, such as it is, calls for typically 1000 to 2500 edits before many users will consider them for the position. Obviously, this is a new wiki with many fewer pages, but that doesn't mean there isn't a similar demand. I'd like to hear from the nominee (assuming s/he acccepts) explain why they would make a good admin before casting my ballot. → Fris Θtalk 01:19, 8 Dec 2004 (GMT)

    • I have knowledge of the policies, workings and etiquette of the wiki, open mind, and, as I believe, an ability to handle disagreements. Regarding the timing, I have to agree that my participation is indeed non-systematic. -- Wilem Engelking 09:50, 9 Dec 2004 (GMT)
  • I'd like to remind both candidates that they are wiki members too, and may cast votes for themselves.
