This is the page explaining in detail the incident(s) leading up to a person being blocked. Every incident should have a section. Hopefully we won't have to add to this much.

Note that long-period bans of users and subsequent blocks of said users are not listed separately on this page, but are in the summary list under "Bans".

Fill out the following information when blocking a user.

Sysop: name of sysop who blocked the user

Reason: summarize reason for blocking here; specific instances will be mentioned in the "Report" section

Date and time of blocking: hh:mm, day month year

Time: duration of block

Report: give links to specific pages vandalised, plus summary of inappropriate content, also report any useful contributions

Follow up: any additional information gathered or action taken after initial filing

Bans

• Quebrada (talk | contribs): Banned by Goobergunch after consultation with others on 21:41, 21 Nov 2004 for the duration of one year 19:33, 24 Nov 2004 for the duration of six months. See User:Quebrada/Ban for details. The ban currently expires at 18:42, 4 Jun 2005 (UTC).

Reason: Repeated blanking and vandalism

Report: User blanked Talk:Main Page, -The Terran Republic-, Aaronakia, 1 Infinite Loop, Adam Island, and vandalized Coalition War, Category:Nations, and Mettatron, all in a fairly short period of time.

Reason: Flaming vandalism

Report: Vandalized the Marathon, Beeker, Zoland, Perrier, and Klamath articles. We believe this IP to be Marathon.

Reason: Per conditions of User:Syskeyia/Arbitration Order. This IP is identical to User:Syskeyia.

Date and time of blocking: 20:48, 30 Nov 2004

Time: 24 hours

Report: User edited Christianity repeatedly, including reference to RL Roman Catholic doctrine despite repeated warnings that this was in violation of the Arbitration agreement. After a long editing session on #nswiki, Knootoss, Syskeyia and Frisbeeteria ironed out appropriate NPOV language. Despite the agreed-upon language, user then went back and re-edited to his original language. Changes were reverted, user was banned, as per Arbitration Order.

Report: Vandalism of Grub , 10000 Islands, Ten Thousand Islands Treaty Organization, Alliance Defense Network, The DEN. Blanking content and replacing it with anti-TITO messages

Sysop: User:Frisbeeteria (User:Knootoss re-blocked due to failing of original block)

Reason: violation of arbitration banning RL references

Time: 24 hours

Report: Edits were reverted and the automatic 24 hour block was applied per NSwiki:Arbitration/Syskeyia. This was his second edit / reversion on this page in 24 hours.

Follow up: The Block User function does not appear to work. Both Knoot and I tried it. I have blocked Syskeyia's previous static IP address of 192.91.253.52 in hopes that it will do the trick.

Since User:Syskeyia is either unwilling or unable to comply with the agreed-upon restrictions of NSwiki:Arbitration/Syskeyia, I intend to convene permanent ban discussions at User talk:Syskeyia/ban sometime later today. an escalated scale of progessively longer blocks at NSwiki:Arbitration/Syskeyia#Motion_to_reopen.

Reason: Link-spam Vandalism of NSwiki

Report: Spammed the NSwiki page with a bunch of drug links. I've got no use for linkspammers and there's no way that that was an accident.

Follow up: There's a blocking bug that's been noticed on Wikipedia, so please make sure that the user in question gets unblocked at the right time, manually if necessary. Unblocked manually. -- Wilem Engelking 14:39, 10 Jan 2005 (GMT)

Reason: Blatant drug site advertising spam on NSwiki:Protected page

Date and time of blocking: 23:07, 22 Jan 2005

Time: 1 month

Report: Spamming of drug sales links. As this class of spammer seems to head directly to system-related pages and they seem to have a clear understanding of wiki markup, it's clear that this is intentional spamming for some as-yet-undiscovered purpose. They clearly know that wiki community members will revert the pages, and they're not even picking popular pages, so the purpose remains unclear to me. Since it is so obviously intentional, no warning shots were fired. Blocked for one month on first offense.

Follow up: Both this user and the previous IP user (213.228.82.111 and posssibly User:Xaxa) are using RIPE networks and a dial-up pool, so blocking effectivness is minimal. NNSwiki might want to consider an IP Range Block on RIPE networks if this continues to be an issue.
