Nagaraku Ryouta (Japanese: ナガラク・リョータ, Nagaraku Ryōta), born Irie Tetsu (Japanese: 入江哲, Irie Tetsu) was the ninth President of the People's Republic of H-Town Tejas and second Chairman of the Tejano Worker's Party. The former second-in-command of the Tejano Proletariat Army and closest friend of Tejano liberation hero Fujita Ichirou, Nagaraku served as supreme dictator of the Tejano state from the May 1, 1998 "Corrective Revolution" to his assassination on June 28, 2007. He is rightfully credited with the stabilizing of Tejas following the overthrow of the fascist Social Republic of Texas, and the subsequent occupation by UN Peacekeepers.

Early Life

Irie Tetsu was born in Houston, Christensen State, now known as New Fukuoka, to a poor Japanese family living in the then-poor neighborhood of Tawada. Tetsu never knew his father, and his mother, Irie Sayuri, brought up Tetsu and his twin sister Ayumi, and took care of her parents and uncle as well, before they all died when Tetsu was nine. Chairman Nagaraku recalls that his mother was, "never around, because she was always on the grind." He remembers his grandparents and uncle like this; "Obaasan (Grandma) was strict as hell, Ojiisan (Grandpa) was always asleep on some sort of medication, and Ojisan (Uncle) was your stereotypical 'dirty old man.'" Another who died when Tetsu was nine was his sister. Ayumi was run over by a Mercedes full of drunk, white teenagers, who avoided being prosecuted completely. When this happened, Tetsu's mother became a heavy drug user, and lost the jobs she had once so diligently worked at. She also became abusive, and Tetsu ran away from home when he was thirteen. From then on, he lived in a "state-sponsored" orphanage for non-Whites, which was almost completely unmaintained, horribly overcrowded, and horribly understaffed.

A troublemaker who was almost never in school, Tetsu nevertheless managed to graduate high school by the skin of his teeth. However, throughout that, he worked many jobs and ran errands for local pimp Joseph Umida. Through this, he met up with his best friend, Kurisaki Kousuke, who was later to become legendary revolutionary Fujita Ichirou.

The Civil War

The Early Years (1987-1993)

When Tetsu was 18 and Kousuke was 21, they worked in an arms factory in Houston, making weapons for the Social Republic Army. Kousuke, a charismatic leader, organized the factory's workers and many others within the city against the oppressive conditions of the city. On October 25, 1987, the "New Fukuoka Riots," which gave rise to the Tejano Proletariat Army and the Tejano Civil War, began. The rioters launched a surprise attack on a military garrison full of sleeping troops, appropriating their weapons and vehicles. The Houston government officials surrendered after weeks of rioting, and on December 1, 1987, the city was in the hands of the rioters. Tetsu and Kousuke both took on the revolutionary pseudonyms of Nagaraku Ryouta and Fujita Ichiro, respectively. When asked how he chose his nom de guerre, Chairman Nagaraku said, "Ryouta was kind of like my uncle's name, Ryouji. Nagaraku was just some gibberish that might sound Japanese to those fascist rednecks." Acquiring weapons and other supplies from Communist nations, Fujita and Nagaraku worked furiously to organize the citizens of New Fukuoka against an impending government attack. The city held against fascist attacks, artillery, and bombs for months before a counter-attack was finally planned.

Fujita and Nagaraku led guerilla forces throughout the rest of Christensen State, and it was more or less in their hands in its entirety by 1989. The Tejano Proletariat Army, which they had decided to name their guerilla force, grew rapidly in its numbers and dominated the country's coastal areas by 1990. They also operated inside the government-controlled areas; future People's Security Minister Celino Aiza and Head of Military Intelligence Diego D'Cruze both led covert operations sabotaging fascist factories, assassinating fascist officials, and spreading TPA propaganda within the government-controlled areas. The TPA entered Austin in late December of 1992; after hiding in the city for two months, President Brand Christensen finally fled to Parthia, and Fujita declared himself President of the new Republic of H-Town Tejas.

Operations Against the UN and Rise to Power (1993-2000)

However, this was not to last; a UN peacekeeping force was deployed to Tejas. A UN Peacekeeper shot Fujita in the head, and Nagaraku assumed command of the TPA and its political wing the Tejano Worker's Party. Fujita's "left-hand man," Du Dongliang, assumed the presidency. The death of Fujita was a propaganda victory for the TPA; membership soared, and the UN faced stiff resistance. It was said that their zone of control was "maybe Austin." After three more years of fighting, the UN pulled out of Tejas. However, fascist militants and remnants of the Social Republic Army still remained, and the RH-TT was still very unstable. Because Fujita had been an idealistic democratic socialist, Du, who idolized him, ran the country in the way that he perceived Fujita would. And that caused problems. In 1997, a huge SRA-fascist militant revolt in the exclave of Dallas broke out, and the entire area fell to the dogs. This was considered "an intolerable situation."

Nagaraku, on May 1, 1998, led a bloodless coup against Du, transforming Tejas into a one-party state with himself as its dictator. He crushed the militants on the mainland, and, in 2000, invaded the Dallas Exclave and brought it back under the new People's Republic of H-Town Tejas's flag, however, civil conflict continues in the area.

Since The Civil War

Nagaraku settled down, and released his iron grip on the country, if not only slightly. He had two children, Katsuro and Ran, both of whom were born to different mothers, neither of whom he was married to, during the Civil War. He was briefly married to actress Araki Akemi, but she has since been assassinated by the few remnants of the fascist militants on the mainland. There have been three attempts on his life since 2000, the first two he survived.

At home, Nagaraku has a mixed reputation; while most disliked his heavy-handed dictatorial rule, they also acknowledge his achievements as a leader, which include bringing stability to the country, developing a top-class education system (H-Town Tejas is almost, if not 100% literate), and developing the country's infrastructure, falling apart under fascist rule. He tended to be an extremely casual person unless dealing with a foreign entity, and even then, he was not much more formal than he was around his people. While he was rich, he did not live in absolute decadence, instead choosing a fairly small luxury apartment in Tawada, built where the squalid orphanage he once lived in once stood. He owned a single customized Nissan 350Z, did not employ any house workers, and donated a large amount of money to charity organizations both within his own country and internationally.

He was a master of the Chinese Muslim martial art Xinyiquan, which he learned the basics of from someone who knew it in the TPA, then learned the rest on his own. Nagaraku is an acknowledged poet, writer, and screenwriter, and wrote the screenplay to war epic Gisela, which won Best Picture at the International Film Festival in Kanami and was a #1 film in several other countries.

Death

On June 28, 2007, at an El Guerilla concert featuring Japanese R&B/Reggae artist Minmi, Nagaraku was assassinated by a sniper with a G3/SG1 designated marksman rifle. The identity of his assassins or their affiliation is as of yet unclear, but is believed to be the work of the "Anti-Communist Army."
