Nala Megoteratu Boulea was the 15th Prime Minister of the Most Serene Republic of Baranxtu. She is mostly remembered as the prime minister who broke the coalition with the Party for the Union of all People of the Republic, thereby destroying her own government. At the time of her election, she was also the youngest person ever to become prime minister, at the age of 43. Up to this day, she is also the only person without a university degree to ever be elected to this position.

Biography

Born in Anter, a suburb of Misma as the first and only child, she was sent into a convent at the age of 12, as her parents would not have been able to pay for her education. After the National Education Act was passed in 1945, which gave all education responsibilities to the state, she could finish her secondary school in Ωn-Baranxiž.

She decided to work as a journalist at a provincial newspaper. In 1956, she had gained a lot of popularity for her witty and critical writing, and was offered a position as advisor to Anhani Masurgetu Auli, the governor of Ωgg-Neila. She accepted, and did her best to improve the situation of the industrial workers.

In 1960, she married Anhani Auli. When she got pregnant later that year, she at first thought about becoming a home maker, but in the end decided against. She gave birth to her first child, her son Umeri, in 1961. She gave birth to the sisters Amaila, Zubihanda and Nimta in 1962, becoming the first politician ever to have triplets.

Following her political downfall in 1976, she moved back to Anter with her family.

In the 1980s, when her son became an important member of the Liberty and Justice League, she had some serious fights with her family, and in 1991, Ahani and Nala officially disinherited all their children.

The family has not reconciled since, and the spoused today still live in Anter.

Politcal Rise and Downfall

Nala Boulea saw the relaxed immigration laws as one of the problems, and joined the National Party of the Republic in 1958. Two years later, she was elected into the Parliament of Ωgg-Neila as a delegate of one of the two districts of Misma.

In 1964, she changed to the national election list, and promptly was elected into the House of the Moon. By now, her party was ruling the country in coalition with the Party for the Union of all People of the Republic and the Organisation for Trade and Economy.

When Aimani Dalanitu Sirhagi was elected prime minister, he also laid down his position as party leader. Subsequently, 68.56% of the delegates at the Convent of the National Party of the Republic voted for her to be the new head of the party.

In 1972, Nala Boulea officially ran for the post of Minister of Social Affairs. Quite unexpectedly, her party suffered a loss of almost a quarter of its seats. It still was the largest fraction in parliament, but now heavily relied on the other two members of the coalition. The disappointed members of parliament mainly blamed Aimani Sirhagi for this loss, and when he should be elected prime minister by the lower chamber, he did not receive the necessary votes.

It took the coalition members almost a week to decide on a new candidate, and finally, Nala Boulea was chosen and elected prime minister with 74 of 119 votes.

Her rule, however, was not very successful. The coalition became weak due to severe tensions between the parties, especially between Nala Boulea herself and the Party for the Union of all People of the Republic, whose members grew more and more dissatisfied with her nationalist and even racist views regarding immigrants.

In early 1976, this led to a parliamentary revolution, when the members of the Party for the Union of all People of the Republic left the coalition and began negotiating with the Liberty and Justice League. As no consenting agreement could be made before the national election of the same year, Nala Boulea could finish her term, however, neither of the remaining parties of the coalition could gain enough support to continue the conservative government.

Subsequently, Nala Boulea laid down all of her party positions and left Baranxtuan politics.
