Introduction

The alliance is made up of a group of nation who volunteer to host tennis tournaments in NationStates.

Nations in the alliace host tournaments in rotation so that all will be given a fair chance to host. One cycle starts with the Red Dot Open, and the last nation in the cycle would be the latest member's tournament.

Any nation can host the tournament, but their tournament may have little or no bearing on the ranks. Only after hosting the tournament, then they may consider joining the NSTA and membership is entirely voluntarily. Being in the alliance means that any tennis tournament a nation hosts will have a heavier bearing on the ranks. If they reject joining, they can continue to host tournaments, but their tournaments will have liitle or no bearing on the rankings. They may consider joining again after a cycle.

History

The alliance started out as the NationStates Tennis Association. It was created by One Red Dot with the intention of those in the group being able to hosts opens - tournaments with a heavier bearing on ranking. After NSTAIT1, changes were made to the structure so as make things easier for hosts.

Scoring

Scores are generated by a scorinator developed by Cockbill Street on an Excel spreadsheet. The probability of winning a game is influenced by the players' rank and random functions. No name has been given to the scorinator as of yet.

Ranks

Ranking is based upon the KPB system developed by Kaze Progressa and improved by Bedistan for the World Cup. The players earn points for each set they win or lose and are thus ranked by points.

Past Hosts

The tournaments are collectively known as the NationStates International Tour NSTAIT1: Red Dot Open I NSTAIT2: Ts'khinvali Open I
