The nation's government is fairly small and is defined as "socially progressive." There exists some confusion if many large multinational corporations actually run the country, considering how much power they hold in the nation.
The country is governed by the 285 Rules of Acquisition which serves as the main law and the structure of which society is based. The rules are constantly changed, added, or removed. However, the first 285 are the ones which are generally accepted by the government. The rules are listed in the nations' Bill of Opportunities, which outlines the given freedoms, rights, and responsibilities given to citizens.

Electoral System
Federal
According to Nation of Quebec's constitution, an election must be held every six years. However, the Prime Minister is free to call an election whenever he chooses. There are many provinces in the nation, and each one is represented by what is called a Representative of the Parliament (RP.) Some RPs are granted special positions in the elected party's cabinet, as well as the Ambassador position. The cabinet is the backbone of the new government, as they implement the party's platforms in the nation. There are a total of 96 represented electoral districts. A district won is called a seat. RPs are elected to the Greater House.
The nation has no minority or majority government system. Instead, any opposition parties can create laws that repel laws put forth by the governing party. The opposition parties must have a total of 47 votes for their resolutions to pass.
The currently governing party is the Quebec Commerce Authority (QCA) with a total of 51 seats.
Provincial
The provincial electoral system is very similar to the federal. Each province elects Representatives of Provincial Parliament (RPPs) to the Lesser House. The Lesser House handles the responsibilities of the provinces. The total number of provincial seats is 963.

History
Nation of Quebec, and perhaps all nations within the Corporate Hierarchy owe their existence to a brilliant man, Joe Coates. Before founding the nation, Coates was an explorer from an unknown land. His entire life was based on finding new lands for his nation to eventually conquer. However, Coates was also an idealist, businessman, and the voice of freedom. It is said that the land he came from was a desolate place riddles with war, corruption and a dictatorship government. It was always a dream of his, and many from the land, to eventually escape the horrors of their country and find a new land where they could live in peace. That dream was realized when Coates had discovered a hidden and undiscovered continent far away from his country. This soon began the Great Escape as historians call it, when Coates and thousands of other idealists left their home, taking with them what they needed to survive. The journey was a short one as Coates and his followers stole many state of the art ships and aircraft to assist them on their journey. They had arrived at their continent, which would now be their home.
In the decades that followed, the original section of the continent had been claimed as Coatesland, due to the increasing number of people from other lands who had seemingly escaped similar consequences. All people within the land shared the same beliefs and goals, alliances were soon formed and everyone was at peace. Various colonies were claimed by what would become other nations of the region. As a result of the high technology of the colonies, they grew rapidly both in terms of population and infrastructure. Automobiles once again cruised the streets, aircraft were seen more frequently than birds, ships patrolled the seas, even underground colonies were developing as a result of this expansion. The colonies belief in capitalism helped them to expand financially into the corporate landmass that it is today. After fifty years, nations soon formed in the region, united in their beliefs in capitalism and freedom. The colonies referred to themselves as The Corporate Hierarchy, representing their firm beliefs in the ladder of success. Nation of Quebec was chosen as the nation's name as a result of the recent discovery of Coates' French background.
Economy
Nation of Quebec boasts that it has the strongest economy in the region. The nation is pro-capitalist, and large corporations dominate. The nation has the highest GDP in the region. The nation mostly concentrates on Commerce, Defense, and Education. Unions are banned from forming, and the citizens are constantly subjected to advertising by compulsory miniature radios. The government has recently cut all forms of welfare, as poor people often work in labour camps to pay off their debts. The nation refuses to provide international aid unless it receives investments into other nations private sectors. A large private sector is led by the Automobile Manufacturing industry, followed by Uranium Mining and Arms Manufacturing. Income tax is unheard of.
The economy has grown very rapidly. It surpassed Kantoriuma as the most economically powerful nation in the region based on a recent United Nations survey.
Culture
Nation of Quebec was founded on French culture. It had everything from French food to French music. However, due to the victory by the Pwnage Party of the Nation of Quebec, the nation has moved towards a computer geek, or leet culture. Citizens can be seen acquiring the latest technology, and Star Trek is followed almost as a religion. The citizens are devout followers of Kantoranity, and spread the word of Kantor throughout the world.

The United Nations has discovered that Nation of Quebec is one of the less extreme and corrupt nations in the region. Currently, the UN defines Nation of Quebec as a Capitalist Paradise.
