The National Assembly of the Socialist Union of Kerla is the chief lawmaking body of the Socialist Union of Kerla. It is usally just called The National Assembly

History

The National Assembly was first used as a way for chiefs to communicate before the unifcation of the country. When the country was unifed under George I, he agreed to give the tribe chiefs a voice. They decided to keep the National Assembly and use it as a check of George I's power. It was used as the legislative body of the Republican body and has been used ever since. It was also around during the reign of Jefferson Davidson, rubber stamping all his decisions. After the Socialist Rebellion, the people voted to keep the National Assembly but make it more powerful.

Current National Assembly

The current National Assembly is made up of 565 people. While the Surpreme Executive Council is part of of the legislative branch, the laws are mainly made in the National Assembly.
