The National Patriotic Christian Alliance (Russian: Национальный Патриотический Христианский Союз) is the second most important Taraskovyan political party, and is the main force of Slavic nationalism in the country.

History

The National Patriotic Christian Alliance formed in the aftermath of the Grand Ducal restoration in 1147 AS, as many other modern Taraskovyan parties. It was born from the union of a number of movements including various Slavic nationalists and radical Orthodox organizations.

The party has often come to be associated with the White Legion, even sometimes dubbed the “political wing” of the terrorist formation. Any such allegations have been vehemently denied, however.

Stances

The National Patriotic Christian Alliance is a radically conservative formation, attracting voters mainly from a nationalist and Orthodox supremacist areas.

National and Cultural Politics

  • Absolute Monarchism: the NPCA supports an absolutist Christian (namely Orthodox) monarchy in Taraskovya.
  • Centralisation: while not in favour of a totally Unitarian Taraskovyan State, the Alliance none the less campaigns for depriving the constituent states of a number of powers.
  • Christianity as State Religion: the NPCA campaigns for the restoration of the Vigvar Patriarchate as the one and only state Church.
  • Slavic Nationalism: the Slavs, which constitute a clear majority within Taraskovya (both Metropoly and Dominions), they form the core and the spine of the nation. As such, their interests are prioritary.

Economic Issues

  • Interventionism: the National Patriotic Christian Alliance, while not denying the benefits of the capitalist economy, still reserves the State a strong right to intervene whenever and wherever it deems necessary.
  • Protectionism: Taraskovya must defend Taraskovyan producers, including through not buying foreign produce if Taraskovyans also produce it.

Foreign Policy

  • Collective Security Alliances: cautious approach and entry into an alliance only if it serves Taraskovyan interests. A bilateral approach to collective defence is encouraged.
  • Sisgardian Protectionism: Taraskovya sees any unwanted foreign intervention into Sisgardia as an aggression against itself, liable to be responded with the full specter of the Taraskovyan National Defence Forces. This policy is, in fact, an old Taraskovyan policy which has been in place even before the Federal Period.
  • International Law: Taraskovya shall only respect the limitations imposed by treaties it has chosen to ratify. As is, international law has no supremacy over Grand Ducal law.
