National sport

A national sport is any sporting discipline historically, socially and culturally associated with a particular national group. A sport need not be officially recognised as a national sport to qualify for mention here.

List of national sports by nation

  • Ariddia - football (soccer) is by far the most popular sport, although futsal also has a following, and the success of athletes such as Anaïs Reed, Faith Dallku, Christina Zhang or Amina Mba at the Tyrellian Ylompic Games has popularised gymnastics, table tennis, fencing, badminton, judo and swimming.
  • Az-cz - The national sports are Klepotdance, Kleptoball, Kleptochase and Capture the Flag.
  • Bashenk - football (soccer), and, in the south-east, sailing
  • Bears Armed - wrestling.
  • Cookesland - Baseball is the national sport, however soccer is quite popular
  • ESAT - darts and cycling
  • Fbrenia - football (soccer)
  • Federated Polynesian States - rugby and kilikiti
  • Gruenberg - cricket
  • Liverpool England - officially none; association football, baseball and motor racing are considered the most popular.
  • Lusunia - ice hockey, with lacrosse as the second national sport.
  • McPsychoville - ice hockey and football share billing as being the most popular spots, while mixed martial arts, ultimate frisbee, dodgeball and rugby all have cult following
  • Milchama- baseball is usually the favorite Milchamian sport but football (soccer) is running a closer and closer second.
  • Oliverry- ice hockey is the official winter sport. Football (soccer) has become the official summer sport as the performances of the national team has been very good in the past years
  • Plutoni - steam hockey
  • Qazox - football (soccer), with baseball and bobsleighing vying for second.
  • Ropa-Topia - football ('soccer') used to the the official national sport until the poor performances of the men's and women's teams at the Tyrellian Ylompic Games. Football remains popular in Uhuh-Ropa and Uhuh-Topia, the member nations of the Ropa-Topian Alliance, but it is no longer the official national sport of the Ropa-Topian Sports Alliance.
  • San Adriano - football (soccer) is quite popular; the country's sports hero, Thomas Peruzzi, is a short track ice skater
  • Sativaville's national sport is basketball, with football second and baseball third.
  • Sorthern Northland - Football is the most popular sport in the country, Gaelic Football and Hurling are also popular in the Irish areas of the country.
  • St Edmund - cricket, fieldball (a member of the 'football' family) and sailing vie for recognition as the country's official national sport.
  • Straschkau - football (soccer) along with horse racing
  • Selemantra - Ice Hockey in the national winter sport, while football (soccer) is the national summer sport. Many citizens also play field hockey and participate in rodeos.
  • Spaam - football (soccer), naturally. Known to be good at Quidditch as well. National winter sport is curling.
  • Starblaydia - football (soccer) is the primary national sport, though equestrianism is also highly popular. Among the Dwarven population, ice hockey is by far and away the most popular sport.
  • Swilatia - Officially Pakasa, however football (soccer) is the most popular sport.
  • The Island of Ishtar - Football (soccer); also baseball, hikeball (American football), volleyball.
  • United Island Empires - officially cricket, but football is a lot more popular.
  • Vuam and Isma - football (soccer) is considered to be the best-followed sport in the country, but other sports such as rugby, cricket, futsal, tennis and boxing have many followers too.
