Neo-Macedonia

The Holy Catholic Commonwealth of Neo-Macedonia is a massive, devout nation, remarkable for its punitive income tax rates. Its compassionate population of billions are highly moralistic and fiercely conservative, in the sense that they tend to believe most things should be outlawed. People who have good jobs and work quietly at them are lauded; others are viewed with suspicion.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it devotes most of its attentions to Religion & Spirituality, with areas such as Healthcare and Social Equality receiving almost no funds by comparison. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Neo-Macedonia's national animal is the Fish and its currency is the Latinum.

Executive Branch:

The Holy Reverend Mother: The Holy Reverend Mother is the monarch of the Holy Catholic Commonwealth. She is the top executive authority in the Commonwealth government and exerts complete control over the state affairs with the help of the Noble Conclave. She is also the head of the Marinite church and dictates all it's doctrine. Though she is not connect to any real royal bloodline within the Commonwealth, each succeeding Reverend Mother is believed to be spiritually connected to the last. Each Reverend Mother is selected from the Sisterhood of Mary.

The Sisterhood of Mary:The Sisterhood of Mary is a nunnery setup for the sole purpose of providing an heir for the thrown of the Commonwealth. The sisters of the order model themselves after the Virgin Mother Mary. They are seen with great respect in the eyes of the Commonwealth populace. Sisters of the order can be distinguished by the veils which they constantly wear and are so thick that no one can see their faces. It is actually against the law to see a Sister's face. The order is head by a sister-superior of whom is the right-hand of the Reverend Mother and is next in line to the Commonwealth thrown.

The Primate of Neo-Macedonia: Though the Commonwealth is no longer apart of the Genesian Church, the Primate was the bishop who advised the Commonwealth on religious matters. He is Neo-Macedonia’s liaison to the Genesian Catholic Church and the Papacy.

Legislative Branch:

The Noble Conclave: The Noble Conclave is a council made of entirely of leading members of the several houses of nobility within the Holy Catholic Commonwealth. It is a democratic council which sits in session with the Reverend Mother herself to discuss matters of state. Though the Nobility of the Commonwealth have limited powers over their respected provinces within the Commonwealth, they can only propose bills to take effect over the whole Commonwealth itself. Only the Reverend Mother can pass or veto bills to take effect over the entire Commonwealth.

Judicial Branch:

The Supreme Inquisition: The Supreme Inquisition is the highest inquisition group in the Commonwealth. It is made up of eight inquisitors and one Supreme Inquisitor. They make their decisions in a democratic matter and have no set rules of punishment although burning at the stake has become to most popular method to deal with all convicted criminals which are then branded "heretics."

Neo-Macedonian Nobility:

In Neo-macedonia the houses of nobility can be considered as family to the Sacred Queen. Those looking to marry into the Royal Family have only one choice and that is the try and marry into one the families of the nobility.

The House Von Euker-Hogan:

One of the Great Houses of Neo-Macedonia, the House Von Euker-Hogan has built its power on a simple foundation of fear and terror, two tactics that make the Baron Von Euker-Hogan's underlings that much more dangerous: risk death on the battlefield or suffer a slow, excruciating death in the Baron's chambers as he watches with relish. Hailing from the city of Athelipon the House Von Euker-Hogan has an order based on treachery with family members rising through the ranks through deceit, trickery and, if necessary, assassination. Once a wealthy family in Saxe-Coburg, the House moved to Neo-Macedonia to become the nation's leading arms manufacturer.

The House Kaczorowski:

The House Kacziriwaski is one of the minor houses of Neo-Macedonia, hailing from the city of Yarmuk. The Kaczorowski was a wealthy house when it moved to Neo-Macedonian from Poland and was said to be the Von Euler-Hogan's allies until it was exploited and used by that same House. Nevertheless it appears as a benevolent house. The rulers of the house have always been peaceloving individuals, who incidently let that be their downfall. The house Kaczorowski is an important manufacturer of complex agricultural technology, and at one time was the primary competitor to the House Vandermeersch. However after the Neo-Macedonian Civil War the House began to fall behind it's competitor and were forced to produce only cheap, low-quality versions of its equipment.

The House Yimou:

Hailing from the city of Saldanha, the Yimou represent one of the most greedy and selfish Great House in Neo-Macedonia. Their only goal is to generate revenue to sustain the aristocratic elite of the House, who, to this end, have fine tuned the House to an inhumanly specific degree. The Yimou are always driven in all they endeavor to do by a calculated and single-minded mandate to destroy anything that stands between them and the good gracies of the Sacred Queen, and in turn, the Holy Mother Church. Their origins are a convention of several wealthy families into one large 'Cartel' who moved to Neo-Macedonia from Norightsia. Their Mentats have often been reported to silently disappear under mysterious circumstances. Though the House faces stiff competition with that of the House Von Eulrer-Hogan and House Poliorcetes in Neo-Macedonian Politics, it still poses a threat

The House Mastroianni:

One of the greatest houses of Neo-Macedonia, The house Mastroianni hails from the port city of Port Nolloth. The House employs unlikely methods in its struggle to secure shiping agreements through it's shipping company for the kingdom: noble spirit, just ways and unfailing faith. The House Mastroianni has perfected a form of government that results in a well-organized society and a spiritually satisfied people. Little wonder why Porto Nolloth is the lush, prosperous paradise that it is. Originally from Catholic Europe, the Mastroianni were a devout Catholic family who moved to Neo-Macedonia with the desire to help spread the faith after it converted and hoped to using their vast knowledge of shiping to improved the economy. The House Mastronianni is the eldest noble house in Neo-Macedonia.

The House Vandermeersch:

The House Vandermeersch is one of the minor houses of Neo-Macedonia. This house is the ruling power in the city of Akroinon. The main industry is machines that continuously imporve the agricultural developement of Neo-Macedonia. The only rival to the House Vandermeersch is House Kaczorowski , which also specializes in argicultural machinery. The strongest ally of House Vandermeersch is House Mastroianni. Their friendship began when the Count Dominic Vandermeersch and Duke Paulus Mastroianni fought together in the South African/Neo-Macedonian War. The Hourse Vandermeersch were originally from Elyk the small and moved to Neo-Macedonia in the hope of making a larger name for themselves in the agricultural industry.

The House Mabuza:

One of the minor houses of Neo-Macedonia, The House Mabuza for the most part has little political sway in the Kingdom. This is probably due to Butlerian Mabuza's defeat in the Neo-Macedonian Civil War. His life however was spared by the evil General's army and he was allow to go free along with his famly. However due to his defeat the other families do not believe that the House Mabuza is equal to them. The Mabuza are originally South Africans and their ancestral land is where the current city of Callinicum now stands. After their bitter defeat in the civil war, the Mabuzas have gradually worked to recover their strength and are now seen as the ruling family of Callinicum as well as some of the surrounding country side. They wealth comes from a small, but floursihing book publishing company.

The Economy of Neo-Macedonia

Neo-Macedonian Currency

Neo-Macedonia uses a currency know at Latinum. Latinum is bascially gold which is molded into several different varieations to form currency which equals different amounts. The different variations are Slips, Strips, Bars, and bricks.

Now the standard units:

• 10 slips = 1 strip
• 10 strips = 1 bar
• 10 bars = 1 brick

Now as an example, if the exchange rate was 1 latinum strip equals $1.65 US then:

• 1 slip= $1.65 US
• 1 Strip= $16.50 US
• 1 Bar= $ 165.00 US
• 1 Brick= $1,650 US

Industry:

Mining (platinum, gold, chromium), automobile assembly, metalworking, machinery, textile, iron and steel, chemicals, and fertilizer

Agriculture:

Corn, wheat, sugarcane, fruits, vegetables; beef, poultry, mutton, wool, and dairy products

Gold, diamonds, other metals and minerals, machinery and equipment.

Machinery, foodstuffs and equipment, chemicals, petroleum products, and scientific instruments

Religion:

The Holy Marinite Church

The Church of Mary or Holy Marinite Church as it is often called, is the primary church of the Commonwealth. It was established by its reigning Reverend Mother, Reverend Mother Katherine and is a church devoted to the praise of Mary. Thoiugh the Marinite church follows primarily the teaching the general Catholicism its ultimate difference is that it believes Mary, jesus's mother was the chosen figure head for God's church and that it should be a woman and not a man who sit on it's thrown.
