The Republic of Neognostics
A small country that has recently popped into the international scene. It's people very patriotic and very devoted to social welfare and the environment. Almost all of it's population are well educated. They are also known for being very compassionate. Even so they always throw a weary eye to more capitalist countries.
There is no private enterprise in existence in Neognostics and most of the taxes are spent in Education, Social Welfare, and Healthcare. Thus equality is assured for it's people.
History
Long before this day the ancestors of the Neognostics left from their many civilizations, disgusted of what they had seen. They roamed from place to place. If you are familiar with Buddhist monks, they were very much like them. They were very wise people. Eventually without knowing they come together and form a small group. Eventually they were known as the Neognostics. Neo stands for new and gnosis is Greek for knowledge. Now don’t be fooled for it isn’t knowledge derived from books or the streets, this is a knowledge that goes beyond those things. It’s better explained as an experience. Continuing, Gnostic is translated as knower. New Knowers is what comes out of the name. They were part of a resurrection of a lost philosophy and religion known as Gnosticism. As the people grew some embraced it as a philosophy, others as a religion and even others as both. Soon a leader emerged as it results in natural law. This person was known as The Wise One. It was surprising how fast the little country was growing and before we knew it we had formed a new government. A government based on our ideals. Ignorance is not tolerated, so is enterprising. Because of this our country isn’t very wealthy but it is full of wise people. Neo Monoimus was elected President to represent the people. So now he stands here ready to begin this new life for his people and himself.
