New Martinique was formerly the nation of Laatzenian, but after the collapse of that nation some time last year, control was assumed by the Chiraz Sea Company.The area is home to rich iron deposits as well as large hardwood forests, which are the interests of the Company. The residents are still mostly Laatzenian, and are allowed to freely practice their culture. However, most are attempting to learn Sicinian, so as to better interact with Company officials.
