New Nations Alliance

An alliance founded by Samtonia circa December 2003; intended for smaller and newer nations to ally with one another and carry more weight in the NS world. Made up of mostly December 2003 nations: Samtonia, New Izumi (webmaster), Tiboritia, The Vecne Mesto (since resigned), West Pacific, Hudecia, and others. The alliance also had a few older nations among their ranks; notably (and probably exclusively) The Anti-Terror Army (defunct), Falastur, and The Zoogie People, aged August 2003, August 2003, and November 2003, respectively.

In a motion spearheaded by The Zoogie People, which later viewed the change with distate, the name of the NNA as time went by was changed to the League of Hanseatic States, or LHS.

Alliance Positions

Samtonia served as the founder and President of the NNA, and later LHS; sometime in the earlier days of the alliance there was a ratified motion to create other positions. Nominations for the various positions were taken; Samtonia and The Zoogie People both received nominations for President, a nomination which the latter did not accept. Samtonia won this position without dispute. The Zoogie People and West Pacific were roughly even in the vote for foreign minister, until West Pacific conceded that position to take up the position of defense minister.

After The Anti-Terror Army was ejected from the alliance, Hudecia became nominated the new treasurer.

Death of the LHS

Since the renaming of the NNA to the LHS, the alliance lost a good part of its purpose, and therefore stagnated. Eventually the alliance ceased to exist, compounded by the death of the alliance website (OOC).

Sometime in the middle of 2004, Samtonia reforged the LHS, attracting the attention of some of its older members. However, it never regained its former prestige and has languished since.
