Overview

The People's Syndicalist Commune of New Ronin (Roninese: Zé Chu Sanjakeroké Kyouke zo Shiné Ronin), or simply New Ronin (Roninese: Shiné Ronin), is a country and a urban Anarchist Syndicalist people's commune located in South Columbria; bounded to its north by Segasaturn, to its south by the Eastern Ocean and to its west by the Great Saturnia River. The People's Syndicalist Commune of New Ronin comprises of over 3,000 communal residential, commercial and industrial districts, 27 towns and villages and the main cities of Porterdam and Ronin City, two out of many of the world's most densely populated cities.

With nearly 200,000 square kilometers, New Ronin is the smallest country in South Columbria and one of the smallest countries in the world. With a population of a 150 million, it is also one of the most densely populated countries in both the Karla region and the world.

Since gaining its independence on 14 March 2004 as the People's Republic of New Ronin after a 28-year insurrection against multiple colonial powers, and its formal establishment as a People's Syndicalist Commune under the direction of the Syndicalist Roninese Union (SRU) and the Roninese people after a three-month long revolt against the provisional government of New Ronin on 24 September 2004, New Ronin has begun the long and difficult process of re-construction and re-industrialization (before 1975, the area that now makes up New Ronin was apart of the French colony of Segasaturn and was the third most industrialized and developed region in South Columbria.)

However, the re-construction and re-industrialization process was hindered by the inefficiencies in the first three-year plan for the re-development and re-industrialization of New Ronin, forcing the Syndicalist Roninese Union (SRU) to re-develop their objectives and to introduce a new ten-year plan on 1 January 2007 that would focus primarily on import-substitution re-industrialization (ISRI), and the total restoration of its infrastructure.

In foreign affairs, New Ronin has recently increased its economic and political profile by being a main protagonist in the expansion of the International Fair Trade Agreement (IFTA) to new Anarchist and non-Leninist communes and is becoming a safe haven for refugees fleeing war and poverty from other parts of the world. This has contributed greatly to the efforts of the Department of Public Services of Communal Local of the Syndicalist Roninese Union (DPSSRU) to emphasize the continued development of the Roninese culture, the Roninese people, the Roninese language and the Roninese identity within the context of intercommunalism. Also, on 11 May 2007, New Ronin joined the United Nations as a first step to joining the Coalition of Anti-Capitalist Economies, of it which it has been admitted to as of 27 May 2007. New Ronin joined these organizations as so to boost its defense and diplomatic capabilities and to help it become more invested in the future of humanity.

Many Roninese, especially and most shockingly, the younger generations, also possess an immense and, at times, extreme amount of hatred, distrust, disgust and anger towards anything and anyone that is associated with Anarchist Communes of Segasaturn and the Segasaturnian people, due to the historical differences that eventually separated the Roninese people from the Segasaturnian people during New Ronin's days as a part of Colonial Segasaturn, due to the sellout of New Ronin to the continued colonial domination of France and later, other colonial powers, in order to achieve Segasaturnian independence during The Night of Betrayal on 25 September 1975, and the distortion of the modern-day relationship that exists between New Ronin and Segasaturn in textbooks used in the Segasaturnian educational system.

Etymology

In its historical context, the name "Ronin", which means "masterless warrior" in Japanese, was bestowed upon the City of Ronin and its immediate surrounding area when the city itself was established as "Ronin Town" on 1 December 1907 by Hideoshi Fujiyama, the founder of Ronin City. The reason why Fujiyama named it "Ronin" was because of the lack of effective colonial authority in southeastern Segasaturn at the time (until the establishment of Japanese-dominated Ronin City in 1907 and Dutch-dominated Porterdam in 1909, it was not effectively occupied or dominated by anyone except the colonial government itself).

Due to the nature of the wave of Japanese immigration to southeastern Segasaturn in the early 20th century and its concentration upon Ronin City (it was more significant than the wave of Japanese immigration to northwestern Segasaturn), the French colonial government started to refer to the entire southwestern region of Segasaturn as "Ronin" in the late 1910's and early 1920's, even including the parts of the southeast that were being settled and increasingly dominated by Dutch, English, French, African and German colonists, out of the need of recognizing the importance of Japanese immigration to that region and out of the need to prepare the region into its eventual stratification as a new colonial state also called Ronin with Ronin City as its Capital, as so to halt any form of ethnic stratification from developing, which officially came about in 1925.

After 1925, the rapid industrialization of Ronin, the development of South Colubrian Anarcho-syndicalism in Ronin City and the increasing convergence of the populations that lived in Ronin helped to contribute to the initial development of the Roninese language, the Roninese culture and eventually the Roninese people, which only truly came unto to its own after The Night of Betrayal in 1975, the War of Independence (1975-2004) and more recently, after it officially gained its independence in 2004.

In its modern context, the modern commune was named "New Ronin" because it was meant to send the message that it had officially come into existence as an independent entity.

Government

The Local of the Syndicalist Roninese Union (LSRU)

The Local of the Syndicalist Roninese Union is the foundation of both the Roninese economy and Roninese society. The reason for this is because it is the organization that allows all to have a hand in the control of the productive, social and cultural forces of New Ronin by producing products and providing services on a equal and socially conscious basis.

The Local and its function of being an institution for the popular control over New Ronin's productive, social and cultural forces are what makes New Ronin unique, in comparison with countries that are "Socialist", Mixed Capitalist and Free Market Capitalist. It actually empowers people and removes them from the alienation that the lack of popular control over the means of production produces, while other countries suffer from the domination of a minority and its interests over the majority.

The Formation of Locals

Locals of the Syndicalist Roninese Union (SRU) are formed through a three-step process.

The first step is the submitting of a application by a group of interested individuals to the Department of Justice and Internal Affairs of the Communal Local of the Syndicalist Roninese Union (DJIACLSRU) in Ronin City through mail, e-mail and/or by going to the Communal Local Hall in Ronin City and put in the application at the office of the Department of Justice and Internal Affairs of the Communal Local of the Syndicalist Roninese Union (DJIACLSRU).

The second step is the processing and directing of the application to the correct department. The officials at the office of the Department of Justice and Internal Affairs process the applications according to what sector of Roninese society that it is relevant to. Then the processed files are sent to the Department of Manufacturing of the Communal Local of the Syndicalist Roninese Union (DMCLSRU), the Department of Public Services of the Communal Local of the Syndicalist Roninese Union (DPSCLSRU), the Department of Transportation of the Communal Local of the Syndicalist Roninese Union (DTCLSRU) or the Department of Defense of the Communal Local of the Syndicalist Roninese Union (DDCLSRU).

The third step the implementation of these applications by these departments. They will only implement those applications when it becomes possible, but nevertheless, they will be approved. Because of this rule of thumb, many have to wait until the implementation actually occurs because it has become possible for these departments to completely carry out the implementation. They would be sent a notice and that department will formally organize them and place them into a facility in their community or in a industrial communal district that would allow the Local to fully operate according to the outline of the application.

The Numbering System

The Locals of the Syndicalist Roninese Union operate on a numbering system that was established with the Syndicalist Roninese Union (SRU) in 1976, during the early stages of the War of Independence. On 18 May 2007, the Department of Justice and Internal Affairs of the Communal Local of the Syndicalist Roninese Union (DJIACLSRU) formally put into place a new numbering system that ranges from 100 to 999. One of the hallmarks of this new numbering system is the fact that each "100" would be given to the most important locals. This is to help lessen confusion and to apply a level of standardization.

History

Establishment (1907-1925)

The development of what is now New Ronin was put into motion by events that surrounded the industrialization of the French colony of Segasaturn between the period of 1875-1935, which caused the massive immigration of people of many ethnicities to Segasaturn in search of work and more opportunity. This soon led to the immigration of those of Japanese descent to Segasaturn from Japanese-speaking countries throughout the world, specifically because of the nature of the governments of those countries when it came to the privacy of individuals and the generalized poverty that they faced. They saw Segasaturn as a land of opportunity and their only hope, despite it being a colony of France. The first wave of Japanese immigration took place between 1880 and 1900 and it was mainly concentrated towards the northwestern portion of Segasaturn, forcing the French colonial government to establish the Colonial State of Kenji (now the Kenji Regional Section (KRS) of the Anarchist Communes of Segasaturn) and granting permission to these Japanese immigrants to establish settlements within that Colonial State.

Anticipating a second wave, in 1905, the French colonial government of Segasaturn established a commission, the Southeastern Segasaturnian Colonial Commission (SSCC) that targeted the southeastern portion of Segasaturn as a another place to allow Japanese immigrants to come and establish settlements. They realized while in the process of putting this commission into motion that unlike Kenji, which was dominated totally by the Japanese, they needed a colonial state that would contain a combination of Japanese immigrants, French immigrants, German immigrants, African immigrants, Dutch immigrants and English immigrants, while operating under a functional Japanese name as so to recognize the importance of the next wave of Japanese immigration.

In order to carry out the implementation of the inhabitation of southeastern Segasaturn This would, in their eyes, be seen as a first step to the eventual integration of Segasaturn,

Grading in New Ronin

In New Ronin, grading is done on the basis of one's performance in all the parts of his or her educational level, not by numbers or by letters. The reason why this is done is because of the observation of many Roninese in educational facilities abroad and their assessment in destroying the alienation and apathy that modern education produces in children. The comments on performance are sent home to the parents of Roninese children at the end of the school year in May.

Educational Facilities in New Ronin

The current educational facilities in New Ronin have experienced sustained damage from over 29 years of war and revolution and are collectively oriented towards the Capitalist mode of production as opposed to the Communist mode of production, causing the Department of Public Services of the Communal Local of the Syndicalist Roninese Union (DPSCLSRU) to announce on 1 Febuary 2007 that they will focus on the development of new educational facilities to replace the educational facilities that are present within the course of the next ten years, along with the destruction of old ones and the construction of new ones in communities that never had educational facilities before.

These new educational facilities will centralize the two stages of the Roninese education system into single multi-story buildings that would hold all of the facilities necessary for education of all children and uneducated adults. This way, instead of having people go to a whole separate amount of schools as the process of education unfolds, there would be one school that will be able to serve the needs of the communities of New Ronin in a fashion that will result in the production of intelligent and productive individuals. The educational facilities that are being built at the present time would be built to separate both the uneducated adults and the children, as so to address their educational needs in a proper and necessary fashion. Separate facilities will also be provided for the physically and mentally-disabled, as so to address their needs as well.
