Queen Nianki is the younger sister of the now missing Corrina of the Resurgent Dream. Nianki is an extremely muscular woman known for her skill in combat. However, as great as her skill with the sword is Nianki's infamous temper, extreme even for a lady of House Gwydion. Nianki ascended to the throne of Shieldcrest after the death of her older brother, Danwyth of Shieldcrest, who died childless.
Nianki is sister to Corrina of the Resurgent Dream, the late Danwyth of Shieldcrest, and Beatrice, Grand Duchess of Lincoln. Nianki is aunt to Aiwyn of Mists, Agwene of the Resurgent Dream, and Vicotira, Grand Duchess of Lavoisier. Nianki is fluent in English, Gaelic, and Welsh.
