The Imperial Empire of Nojika, also referred to as Nojika, is a highly developed, authoritarian country in Atlantian Oceania The country is made of one main land mass that extends from the Holy River to the Nojikan Straits, a second smaller land mass that borders the country of Lamoni, and four islands of varying size, all of which lie north of the main land. Currently, Nojika is a member of the regional alliance The Strategic Alliance of Autocratic States, an alliance founded on similar governing beliefs and in an attempt to secure peace in the region.

 +
The Imperial Empire is led from its capital, the Imperial Palace in Rozier, commonly referred to as Imperial City. At over 5.7 million square miles, the Imperial Empire is the largest country by total area in Atlantian Oceania, and it is also the 18th most populous nation in the region with over five billion citizens. Typically, the people of Nojika, or Nojikans, are economically capitalist and socially conservative. Most citizens enjoy high economic and many civil freedoms, but only at the expense of any political power.

The Empire of Nojika is a massive, economically powerful nation, renowned for its barren, inhospitable landscape. It has a hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of three billion people. It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt, pro-business government stops and the rest of society begins, but it devotes most of its attentions to Defence, with areas such as Religion & Spirituality and the Environment receiving almost no funds by comparison. The average income tax rate is 31%. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Gambling, Automobile Manufacturing, and Arms Manufacturing industries.
+
Though Nojika is not considered to be a great influence in international or regional affairs, the country has slowly been establishing itself as a key player in regional affairs. The Imperial Military of Nojika has been involved in two major conflicts, and continues to monitor the region in an effort to uphold its pledge to the Lavingrad Pact to secure peace in the region and to ensure the safety of its people and the future of the Empire.

Nojika's national animal is the Siberian Tiger, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the Credit, worth about $1.75 USD.

Ethnicity
 +
In a 2006 census, the population of Nojika was stated to be 5,764,000,000 citizens. This figure excludes persons living within Nojika without legal permission to do so, of which there are an estimated 120 million. The census also concluded that 74.3% of the population lives in urban areas, 58% of whom live in Rozier. The Empire of Nojika is a highly diverse nation, serving as a home to 23 ethnic groups. Among those, Caucasians are the largest racial group, with native Nojikans, Spanish-Nojikans, and German-Nojikans making up the three largest ethnic groups. Furthermore, Scandianvian-Nojikans, Italian-Nojikans, and English-Nojikans make up the smallest three ethnic groups.

The land which is called Nojika presently, has been called by this name since ancient tribes inhabited the peninsula. Nojika, which in ancient tounge means home, has a grand history filled with extreme highs and just as extreme lows. Legal immigrants from within the region make up just 3.7% of the population. And of those, thirty-six percent are Roman, twenty-four percent are Starblaydi, thirteen percent are Xilean, and the remaining twenty-seven percent are from various other nations and former nations of Atlantian Oceania.

Life expectancy
 +
Due to the five trillion Imperial Credits spent on health care each year in Nojika, the overall health of the nation is higher than many of its regional counterparts. A study conducted between 2003 and 2006 determined that the average life expectancy of men is 81 years and 86 years for women. The study also determined that the country has an infant mortality rate slightly higher than that of other post-industrial nations, such as Pacitalia, Starblaydia and Lamoni. However, unlike other nations, the health care system in the country is a funded by a mix of public and private funding.

Sex and gender
 +
For every one female in Nojika, there are 1.402 males. It has yet to be determined if there has been any reason for the far higher number of males than females, but it is believed by many that the number will, over the next 120 years, balance itself out and that there will be an absolute equal number of males and females in the country by the year 2128.

Long Form: The Empire of Nojika
+
Marriage in Nojika is not a religious ceremony as it is in many other countries. And although the ceremony is in many ways very similar to those in other countries, it is, at its most simple form, a legal contract between couples. Still, many couples do choose to incorporate religion into their marriage ceremonies.

Culture
 +
The culture of Nojika is reflective of many western cultures and has been developing since long before Nojika became an official, recognized country. It's chief early influence was British culture, due to the mass immigration that spread the English language and other cultural inheritances to the country. Other important influences came from Europe, especially countries from which large numbers immigrated such as Germany, Ireland, Italy, Spain and Greece, and the native Nojikan peoples.

Arts and music
In its early history, Nojika's art came in the form of European style artwork. Paintings, sculpture, and literature was clearly molded and influenced by European models, with of course, its own attributes making it unique and different from its forefathers. Currently, the center of art in Nojika is the downtown area of Rozier as well as Roenech, where some of the highest paid artists and authors

+
Though in its history, there was once a Nojikan language, it has since become near extinct due to the ease that the English language allows nations to communicate with one another because of its use throughout the world. In 2006, a census confirmed that because of the expansion of English into Nojika, there are only about four hundred households that speak traditional Nojikan in their homes, while ninety-two percent of the population speak primarily English in their home. In addition, three percent of the population speak primarily Spanish, and five percent speak other languages in their home.

Suffrage
Universal suffrage (drinking, smoking, gambling) is 21 years of age. However, since the declaration of the Imperial Empire laws prohibiting minors from performing certain actions have been relaxed and are no longer enforced as they once were.

In general, Nojika has been a very athletic nation with a great interest in sports since it's beginnings. Many traditional sports and games played before modern technologies and expansion, have since been forced aside for more international and modern sports. The most popular sport in Nojika is football, which is played both in the domestic league and at a regional level in the Atlantian Oceania Cup of Association Football. Though the Imperial Empire's national sports teams have not done well historically, recent competitions have shown that Nojika's national teams are on the rise and growing in strength.

The Imperial Charter is the supreme law of the Imperial Empire of Nojika. It was adopted in its original form on March 31, 1987 by the Imperial Senate in Rozier, Nojika. Imperial domestic law is strict and forbidding, but is rarely strictly enforced. Nojikans enjoy many social and personal freedoms, but have mostly no power in the government.

Transportation in Nojika is facilitated by well-developed road, air, rail and water networks. Passenger transportation is dominated by a network of over 3.4 million miles of paved roads. 93% of passenger trips in Nojika are by personal automobile.

National Government
+
This is supplemented by an advanced air transportation nework which includes 8,000 paved runways. There are also over 300 domestic passenger and cargo airlines and a number of international carriers. Private aircraft are also used for medical emergencies, government agencies, large businesses, and individuals. Air travel is the mode of choice for the majority of trips over 200 miles.

The Empire of Nojika is ruled by its Emperor, who is currently the founding father of the Empire, Emperor Brakiss. The Emperor has absolute authority over the people and the land of Nojika. And with the aid of selected individuals, the Emperor is able to maintain order in Nojika with relative ease. Currently the government in Nojika includes individuals appointed personally by the Emperor to various government offices; these individuals include twelve Moffs and one Grand Moff, each of whom serve as governors and dimplomats to nations within the region and within the Empire. The Empire's day to day duties are preformed by the Emperor's most trusted and powerful persons, whom belong to the Inner Circle; a group of government officals led by the Grand Vizier.
+
The intercity rail network is smaller than most other countries and has shifted toward cargo transportation as faster air transport has come to dominate long-distance passenger travel.

Government Officials
+
Water transportation is largely used for moving freight. Fishing and pleasure boats are numerous, and passenger service connects many of the nation's islands and remote coastal areas, crosses lakes, rivers, harbors, and provides alternative access to Sendai, the land mass that borders Lamoni.

Air travel in Nojika is the preferred means of passenger travel for long distances. In terms of passengers, three of Atlantian Oceania's twenty busiest airports are in Nojika, including Imperial City International Airport (ICX), Brakiss International Airport (IRZ), and Isle Hiloy SkyPort (IHL). In terms of cargo, one of Atlantian Oceania's busiest airports is in Nojika; the Roenech International Airport (ROE). There are over 100 airports in Nojika and since the tropical island-city of Hiloy was opened to the international public, it is estimated that nearly 160 million people travel through Nojikan airports each day.

Much of the Empire's foreign affairs are handled by the Moffs and Grand Moff of Nojika. Each of these 'Governors' are given full command of all military and otherwise activities within their assigned sector. Because there are many individual persons directly involved with Nojika's foreign affairs, it is impossible to relay any sort of decision making process, as each individual conducts their business how the wish.

Since the fall of the Old Republic and the Emperor's rise to power, the Emperor's decision has become superior and final in all situations. Upon his declaration of Emperor of Nojika, Emperor Brakiss outlawed all political parties and ordered the death of all those that speak out against his rule. The day to day government in Nojika is run by the Grand Vizier and the Inner Circle, whom make many decions for the Emperor and accept full responsibility for all decisions. Because there are so many people running various portions of the Empire, many consider the government to be very decentralized.

Due to its large size and wide range of geographic features, the Empire of Nojika contains examples of nearly every global climate. In most areas, the climate is temperate, tropical in Hiloy and Agcon, polar in Roenech, semiarid in the west, and Mediterranean in the north. Because of its generous climate, Nojika has rarely experienced any severe droughts, major flooding, and receives adequate precipitation, thus allowing its agricultural industry to flourish within the region and become one Atlantian Oceania's best countries for various crops.

In 1990, the nation's first national park was established outside Roenech in the Tennel Valley. Since then, another 21 national parks have been designated. In some parts of the country, wilderness areas have been established to ensure long-term protection of pristine habitats. Altogether the Imperial Empire regulates 1,204,604 square miles, which is 21% of the total land area of the country. The bulk of this land is protected parks and forestland.

Population

Ethnicity

Demographics of the Empire of Nojika
Population

Undocumented immigrants 120,000,000
Citizens abroad 15,000,000,000 to 36,000,000,000

African-Nojikan 13.9%
English-Nojikan 12.4%
Italian-Nojikan 9.1%
Scandianvian-Nojian 3.2%
Other 2%

Legal immigrants from within the region make up just 3.7% of the population. And of those, thirty-six percent are Roman, twenty-four percent are Starblaydi, thirteen percent are Xilean, and the remaining twenty-seven percent are from various other nations and former nations of Atlantian Oceania.

Life expectancy

Due to the five trillion Imperial Credits spent on health care each year in Nojika, the overall health of the nation is higher than many of its regional counterparts. A study conducted between 2003 and 2006 determined that the average life expectancy of men is 81 years and 86 years for women. The study also determined that the country has an infant mortality rate slightly higher than that of other post-industrial nations, such as Pacitalia, Starblaydia and Lamoni. However, unlike other nations, the health care system in the country is a funded by a mix of public and private funding.

Sex and gender

For every one female in Nojika, there are 1.402 males. It has yet to be determined if there has been any reason for the far higher number of males than females, but it is believed by many that the number will, over the next 120 years, balance itself out and that there will be an absolute equal number of males and females in the country by the year 2128.

Marriage in Nojika is not a religious ceremony as it is in many other countries. And although the ceremony is in many ways very similar to those in other countries, it is, at its most simple form, a legal contract between couples. Still, many couples do choose to incorporate religion into their marriage ceremonies.

Culture

Musical roots in Nojika are found to be very diverse and in many different styles. Rock, pop, hip hop, jazz, and soul are among some of the countries most renowned genres. Over the past thirty years, popular recorded music in Nojika has become increasingly known around the region. Studies have shown that each of the "big three" musical genres, rock, pop, and hip hop, seem to grow in popularity in 10 year trends. These trends have seen each of these genres grow in popularity and then fall to the others for twenty years or more before it again becomes popular among youth and young adults.

Cinema in the Imperial Empire is one of the booming industries in the country. The birth of cinema, as well as its development in Atlantian Oceania, largely took place in Nojika on the tropical island-city of Hiloy, where many of the nations films and television shows are filmed. Since the birth of film, the Nojika film industry, based in Hiloy has had a profound effect on cinema in Atlantian Oceania.

Religion

By law, Nojika has no national religion and allows its citizens to practice religion freely. In the last census, ninety-six percent of the population listed itself as practicing a religion. Of those, forty-eight percent of the population identified themselves as Christian, twenty-three percent are of the Islamic faith, four percent are of the Judaism faith, two percent practice Buddhism, one percent practice Hinduism, twenty percent are said to be atheist or agnostic, and two percent did not comment about their religious practices. Furthermore, it is estimated that there are 14,000 persons that are of the Je'die faith, which is exclusive to Nojika.

Language

Sports

The intercity rail network is smaller than most other countries and has shifted toward cargo transportation as faster air transport has come to dominate long-distance passenger travel.

Water transportation is largely used for moving freight. Fishing and pleasure boats are numerous, and passenger service connects many of the nation's islands and remote coastal areas, crosses lakes, rivers, harbors, and provides alternative access to Sendai, the land mass that borders Lamoni.

The Imperial Military has a dedicated system of bases with runways, aircraft, watercraft, conventional cars and trucks, and armored and special-purpose vehicles. During times of war, it may commandeer private infrastructure and vehicles as authorized by The Emperor.

Aeronautics
