The armed forces of the Empire of Norausa
Old Earth
The Norausan military is very disciplined, well-equiped, but rather small, consisting of no more than ten army groups, as befitting the small national population. Norausan military tactics revolves around its lightning fast infantry and armor, with the Norausan mechanized and light infantry deemed to be one of the best in the world. The Norausan Navy and Air Force, by comparison, are also well-trained and well-equiped, but far less prestigious than the ground forces.
Infantry

The Norausan Armed Forces prides itself in its infantry, especially its light, mechanized, and special forces elements. Extremely well-disciplined and highly mobile, Norausan infantry elements are known to "run down" any other ground-based force, including cavalry, mechanized infantry, and short-range airborne forces. Norausan light infantry is a master of fighting in montane or forested regions. Norausan mechanized infantry are often transported and supported by M31 IFVs and the various M6A Light Vehicle variants.
Armor

Norausan armor, like its infantry, is extraordinarily formidable, specializing in fast attacks and reaction maneuvers. The NorArms flagship armored vehicle, the M42 Lamorak Medium Tank, is highly mobile and maneuverable. While it is not, one-on-one, the most powerful tank encountered, the iron-hard discipline of Norausan tankers, coupled with their superior mobility, allows them to stand up to heavier armed and armored opponents.
Imperial Guard
(Motto: Noster Imperator, Noster Amicus, Procul Semper Fidelis)
An elite unit consisting of a heavily reinforced regiment. Directly responsible for the safety of the Imperial Family. Divided into Gold, Silver, Steel, and Bronze battalions. Each battalion is responsible for a member of the royal family, doubling up if there are open slots. In the history of its formation, there has been only one known assassination of one of the imperial heirs, but only after every single member of Steel and Bronze battalions had been killed. Superbly trained and equiped, the Imperial Guard Regiment is under command of the Emperor or Empress.
Nova Caliburn
Ground Strike

The powerful ground wing of the Norausan Empire. Encompasses infantry, armor, "wet" navy, and atmospheric air force.
Infantry
Still the celebrated sub-branch of Norausan ground-based forces. Highly mobile and well equiped, Norausan infantry is still considered one of the best of any civilization. Airmobile operations combining heavy infantry and atmosperic assault ships is a feared tool of the Norausan troopers.
Armor
Just like its pre-space predecessor, Norausan armor relies on high maneuverability and versatility rather than brute strength. The main unit of Norausan armored forces, the Mark VI Templar Main Battle Hovertank, is lightly armored despite its description as a main battle unit, but its speed far outstrips anything of comparable tonnage
Fleet

Fleet Strike

The ground-assault portion of the Norausan Fleet. Specalizes in shock roles, orbital assault, and establishment of "beach heads" for Ground Strike.
Armored Strike

The elite special ground forces of the Norausan Empire. Centered around the massive, powerful Pendragon supertanks and the heavily armed and armored troopers of the Armored Assault Suits. Single regiments of Armored Strike units have been known to reduce and supress an entire planetary defense force.
