Nova Bazalonia

The Initial Formation of Nova Bazalonia

Nova Bazalonia is a recently formed Futuristic colony of the nation of Bazalonia. Sometime in Bazalonia's future a manned space mission to Mars happened upon a wrecked spaceship. This ship had a Faster Than Light engine. While the engine was inoperable itself. It directed research and allowed the Bazalonians to develope their own FTL engine. Based off of the inoperable engine but still done through Bazalonian knowhow. An orbital spaceyard was built and a plan for a colony ship where drawn up. As the construction of the first Bazalonian Space Federation Ship(BSFS) was just getting underway a potential debilitating problem arose.... The sun was predicted to go Nova in a few years time. The production schedule was greatily speaded up... programs for the computer systems where not properly tested ... calibrations and other quality controls where skipped to ensure that the deadline was met otherwise.. well it literally would be a deadline. The ship was named after now dead Bazalonian Prime Minister Steven Hawdon and was captained by a direct decendent, James Hawdon. The BSFS Hawdon as it was named was launched... The Hawdon was travelling through space when the Engine console on the Hawdon's bridge where showing wierd readings.... the field that the FTL engine relied upon collapsed. And they came directly into contact with Seaquestrian forces during a fracas with a hostile force. After the Seaquestrians and their water-based allies, Tidan, destroyed the hostile forces and helped the BSFS Hawdon find a planet to colonise.

Disappearance of Nova

After some time Nova was becoming more like home to the settlers that colonised it. The discovery of a long-dead civilisation on the planet and a new power-source known only as the "sunstone" triggered a unique set of occurrences that resulted in the disappearance of not only the Novaen people but the entire planet of Nova as well.

This was set in motion as explorers who went spelunking in the planets many cave systems, disappeared. People were sent after them and it was revealed that they had come across an ancient civilisation, Saurons where in this Nova but had died out long ago. A sun stone was powering a prison they where put into through various forms of traps. The cave lead to a cavern that had large amounts of Sunstones of varying sizes.

Research was underway in the proper utilisation of the Sunstone but progress was slow. One of the research items was the possibility of powering the Time Field Manipulation Engine, A Space/Time Engineer was working and was working on coupling a large Sunstone into the engine to power it. As the final coupling was put in place they had acheived success the TFME was being powered by the sunstone however that was not the only result. The entire ship, lab and planet was shifted horizontally through parallel universes to one where Saurons, multiple herbivorous races of sapient dinosaurs. Had control of Nova. The two worlds merged together, which meant the STC had no Nova.

Inter-appearance Nova

As the two worlds merged the Humans and Saurons started down a long road of friendship and unity, initial contacts were quite friendly and who knows what could have happened, the first Novaen council was held, a body that would act and deal with issues in regards to matters of importance to both Human and Sauron, both the Humans and Saurons called the planet Nova for different reasons.

This council laid the foundation for strengthening relations between the Saurons and Humans, as time went on more Novaen Councils where held and humans and Saurons started to become closer and closer in both friendships on an individual level and also on a political level. The Novaen Council had managed to unify laws on a whole range of areas and it was this integration and seeming "loss of national and special identity" that spurred seperatist groups both Sauron and human, they ploted, planed and schemed alot of bad things, including destroying the Novaen Council the symbol for the joint symbols.

However their plans were thwarted by two child friends, a human and a Sauron. Who managed to see something they shouldn't of and then managed to collect the evidence required to deal with the conspirators before anything happened, many humans and Saurons where out-raged over the alleged plans and once the conspirators had been convicted and sentenced the longest ever session of the Novaen Council got underway. The meeting had alot to discuss and at the end a new and unique solution to the problems that the conspirators had brought to light had been dealt with.

The solution was to finally once and for all merge the two now similiar societies into one. Both formally and informally, A constition for this new government was also hammered out, using the concept of Life Partners as the most fundamental concept and relationship within Novaen society. This was to once and for all remove all predjudice against members of other species and was lauded by the vast majority.

Time continued to tick past, and eventually there was no one that even showed the slight fraction of prejudice and Life-Partners took each could take each other at a level so fundamental that it almost becomes that there are one person. There are no secrets, nothing is hidden between Life-partners and that is how it is meant to be. However there was something, as stories from the humans old dimension started to become popular preasure on the Novaen government to return to the dimension for at least some time, and so the government sponsored various scientists to develope the technology needed to move themselves dimensionally back. However, mathematics had shown that with the merging of the planets as the Human Nova merged with the Sauron Nova that problems would occur. Reaearch continued and showed that by creating a controlled dimensional instability that the planet could return to the dimension but that was not a satisfactory long term solution. However thanks to tangential research, a scanner that identifies whether something is from one dimension or the other was created and it showed that there was a new element created as the two molten cores from the merged planets interacted over time. This new element Dimensionatium occurs naturally in very low concentrations and so it needs to be concentrated, however when concentrated it acts as a bridge between the 2 dimensions.

This changed the maths and allowed the creation of a dimensionally stable Space Port to act as diplomatic centre while the conentrating processs of Dimensionatium is occuring to allow the entire planet to return to being dimensionally stable.

Re-appearance of Nova

After disappearing the intergalactic community seemed to go on unphased, wars were won and lost trade continued, diplomacy was unabated and the great alliances continued and grew and shrunk. Nova and it's inhabitants were relegated to an interesting historical footnote. That was until once again Nova suddenenly re-appeared, dimensional instabilities attracted a number of nations as well as messages sent to a number of GFFA members.

The dimensional instabilities with the planet of Nova and it's inhabitants synronised between the planet, it's habitants and spaceships, no matter how far from the planet they may be.

Inhabitants of Nova

Nova contains 2 main inhabitants, humans decended from the initial colonists from Bazalonia and Saurons, sapient dinosaurs that have been picked up along the way during their disappearance from the main galactic area.

At birth every child is teamed up with a life partner, human with sauron and Sauron with human. As they grow up they learn together and are employed together. Infact legally, they are considered one entity, a life partner is the closest bond that a Novaen has, it supercedes, marriage and even family. It is almost unheard of for any Novaen to not be with their Life partner.

In the Novaen society a slight against a life partner is a slight against you and if a life partner commits a crime it's like you commited the crime.
