Politics
Nua Shealainn is under the UN Category of Democratic Socialists. The compassionate and patriotic population are very proud of this and do anything that they can to uphold this classification. They see other countries such as Stonelaw and Murlith as the enemy because of the way they treat and persecute their people.
The current government is led by Ciara Loughrey who was sworn into office on the 5th of December 2001. She is the fourth consecutive female Premier of Nua Shealainn. Currently the three major positions of Premier, Attorney-General and Chief Justice are all held by females. This was predicted in a book written by Julius Vogel more than one hundred years ago. Ciara Loughrey and the Éireannach Sóisialaí Páirtí are centrists who lean more towards Libertarianism policies than any other political parties in Nua Shealainn. This is seen as the main reason for the Éireannach Sóisialaí Páirtí being voted in after the last election.
In Nua Shealainn the free speech laws allow political parties, such as The National Front, to exist but only if they make no reference to being Neo-Nazis. If they do make such references their party license is immediatly revoked and they expelled from parliament.

The most populated province is Stoidiaca in the east, with 30 million inhabitants. The capital of Stoidiaca is An Mheá.
Around 7.57 million tourists visit this province every year.
An tIarthar, on the other hand, has very few inhabitant because 30% of its territory is uninhabitable due to the mountains and desert. The capital of An tIarthar, Saifír, is thriving. Situated next to the only forest in the province, it uses this forest for its main export of timber. An tIarthar contains the only patch of desert in Nua Shealainn.
The Island province of The Smaragaid Inis is the smallest in area, but by far the most important politically. Nua Shealainn's Parliament is in the province and national capital of Aimitis. The Premier Ciara Loughrey, resides in the Premier House which is also in Aimitis. The Smaragaid Inis has the smallest population, with a mere 10 million, but it has the second largest economy behind Stoidiaca. Its main industries include Mining and Fishing.
Dearggrian is the most easterly and beautiful of the five provinces. The capital Ruíbín was built between the two great forests of Nua Shealainn. Although this is the most beautiful province not many tourists come per year, this is probably because it is hard to get in and out of the forests. Border clashes have been frequent with Murlith forces and the highest concentration of soldiers is in Ruíbín.
Lánchtalamh is known for its two famous mountains and two river deltas. The capital Airgead is most notable for its many silver-rushes over the last two hundred years. Unsurprisingly the word 'Airgead' means Silver. The people of Lánchtalamh are noted for being the nicest in the country and possibly the region. Many people from all around the region stay in Lánchtalamh when recuperating from illness. Because of this a large amount of money comes into the provinces from sick rich people.
Geography
Nua Shealainn is made up of the mainland along with four islands to the north. These islands are known as Smaragaid Inis. The captial Aimitis is situated on the largest and most southerly of these islands. Nua Shealainn has four other cities which are all on the mainland.
Nua Shealainn encompasses a total area of 256,000km2. It is divided into five provinces or cúige. It contains one mountain range called the Smaragaid Alps. There are four mountain, which are shared between the provinces of Lánchtalamh and An tIarthar. Nua Shealainn also comprises of two River Deltas. Both in Lánchtalamh, though one is in the north and the other in the south.
Forest and Rainforest is spread evenly around the country, apart from in the east, which contains only a little. The only desert in Nua Shealainn is located in the most easterly point, which has Stonelaw to the north and Vallexia to the west. The small part of desert in Nua Shealainn is know as the Nua Shealainn Pit. This is the headquarters of the notorius organised-crime boss Habba the Jutt.
The situating of the four major mainland cities has been labeled as "Bizarre" and "Completely and utterly stupid". With one city in each of the four extremities and none in the centre, people look confused. "Look," says Nua Shealainn Premier "having no major cities in the centre of Nua Shealainn doesn't mean a thing. There are many large towns there, but just because they are not on the map doesn't mean no one lives there." Nua Shealainn has one of the lower population densities in Athkizmix with only 769 people per km2.

Religion is neither widespread nor popular in Nua Shealainn.
In the last census taken by the government in 2003, only 30% of Nua Shealainn citizens associated themselves with any religion.
This is shown in the Nua Shealainn budget where 0% is spent on Religion and Spirituality.
There are many reasons why the citizen of Nua Shealainn do not believe in any gods. Some popular reasons include: "God? That is and absurd idea!" and "God? Kurt Cobain is all the god I need!"
