Present Information
The Imperium of Nurcia is currently led by Jr'dok, who assumed power after the death of Keldon Nurcin. Nurcia is currently at war with both Qordalis and Corvos as part of it's continuing efforts to gain total dominance over Paradoxia. Nurcian forces are currently invading through the now defunct state of Wathorn in hopes of destroying the two nations.
History
For much of it's history Nurcia was more a geographic term than a political one. Various Nurcian warlords would constantly be fighting amongst themselves, and also raiding neighboring peoples for wealth and slaves.
Keldon Nurcin changed this by finally managing to defeat or bribe the other warlords and form a united government. He reshaped Nurcia into a major industrial powerhouse, and ended the internal bloodshed by focusing Nurcian aggression outward.
Initially Nurcia sought to gain power in Paradoxia through diplomatic means via the Paradoxian League of Free Nations, but this eventually led Nurcia, along with it's allies Deianira and Konopsia to war with the Paradoxian Treaty Organization.
Nurcia's attempted invasion of Qordalis, leading nation of the PTO, was bloodily repulsed, and soon Qordathic special forces in a daring raid on Imperium managed to successfully kill Keldon Nurcin.
At this point the Nurcian people learned of Keldon Nurcin's service to Jr'dok, who soon came to Nurcia and assumed direct rule. Nurcia began development of several deadly new weapons, including a powerful airforce noted for destroying the Deianiran city of Pholus, as well as damaging the capital and military of Corvos. The deadly Krytox biological agent has also been unleashed, causing many deaths in both Deianira and Panvexinia.
Characteristics
The population of Nurcia is officially 100% Nurcian, which claims to be a pure race untainted by any foreign blood. Realistically, the population of Nurcia tends to be very mixed due to Nurcia's continuing practice of enslaving foreigners, though by and large class distinctions are more important than ethnic ones.
Nurcians tend to be extremely xenophobic, with immigration officially banned and use of any language other than Nurcian punishable by death. The common people of Nurcia tend to be poorly educated and work in menial and dangerous industrial jobs for low pay. Meanwhile, the small upper class lives an incredibly oppulent lifestyle produced primarily at the expense of the lower class.
Nurcia is widely criticized for it's terrible records on human rights and environmental protection. It is the only naiton in Paradoxia that still practices slavery, and the level of pollution is so severe many foreigners are amazed that Nurcia is still habitable, let alone so densely populated.

Climate
Nurcia's climate is largely a result of the extremely high pollution levels. Temperatures and humidity tend to be high and relatively constant throughout the day. Rain is frequent and very acidic.
