Reign
1717 – 1735
Notable
Reigned in peace for 18 years.

King Olof's unexpected death from a stomach ailment in 1717, following years of restlessness and rebellion among the barons, raised suspicions of foul play. Not wishing to prolong the tensions and mistrust that had plagued the end of his father's reign King Olof II never pursued the allegations.

Despite Olof II's relatively long and peaceful reign, the king died at the age 42. Following his death, rumours began circulating around the court that the royal family was cursed and that no Excalbian monarch would live to past fifty years. While court officials scoffed at talk of a curse, Olof II's daughter, Queen Hiordis, continued the pattern and died herself before fifty.
