The Order of Military Merit is an military decoration and order of chivalry of the Grand Kingdom of Aerion. It is awarded for meritorious or distinguished service. With Swords indicates that the meritorious and distinguished service was performed during times of war on active duty, and can be considered of more prestige because of this.

The Grand Master is the Monarch, and the Deputy Grand Master is the Lord High Marshal.

The motto, engraved on the badge is "Virtute, Armis, Veritas" or "By Valour, Arms, and Truth"

The Order is divided into 3 classes

Grand Officer

Grand Officer - Highest grade. Often awarded to the highest ranking flag officers of His Majesty's Armed Forces, and foreign supreme officers. The helm on the badge is golden, and the badge is worn on the neklet. (GOMM)

Grand Commander with Swords - Highest grade. Awarded to ranking flag officers who performed exceptional service in times of war. The helm on the badge is golden, and badge is on a necklet. Above the badge are golden crossed swords. (GSMM)


Commander

Commander - Awarded to ranking officers as well as soldiers who performed very meritoriously. The helm on the badge is white enameled, and the badge is worn on a neklet. (COMM)

Commander With Swords - Awarded to officers and soldiers who performed exceptional service in times of war. The helm on the badge is white enameled, and the badge is worn on a neklet. Above the badge are golden crossed swords. (CSMM)

Legionnaire

Legionnaire - Awarded to officers, and soldiers who performed a great service, and meritoriously. The helm on the badge is white enameled, and the badge is worn on a ribbon on the left breast. (LMM)

Legionnaire with Swords - Awarded to officers, and soldiers who performed a great service or meritoriously in times of war. . The helm on the badge is white enameled, and the badge is worn on a ribbon on the left breast. Above the badge on the ribbon are golden crossed swords. (LSMM)
