Otea (Qi for Our Isle; also known as Hadu Qirala (Baranxeï for Qiruan Island)) is the second largest island belonging to the Southern Continent of the | IDU after the island of Riconiaa, which is more than five times its size, however.

Otea's largest city and current capital is Himanea.

History

Otea has long been the center of the Qiri people and was the base for its expansion and imperialist policy in the 1400s, when the Qiri governed a large empire spanning most of today's Baranxtu and Jonquiere-Tadoussac from their capital Omasea, which lies on the southern end of the strait between the island and the continent.
Otea was the last kingdom of the Southern Tribes (also know as Ωggneašija (Baranxeï) or anglisized Ongashians) to be conquered by foreign colonial forces. Since then, it has been under Baranxtuan (form 1703-1775), French (from 1775-1802), Jonquiere-Tadoussacois (1802-1923), ULF (1923-2005) and again Baranxtuan (since 2005) rule.
On January 4th, 2005, the government of Baranxtu installed a protectorate in Otea under the leadership of Governor Artamea Qilao Nibana, great-granddaughter of former King Limea Qilao Nibana who ruled Otea in the name of Jonquiere-Tadoussac until 1923.
