The Parti hochelagais is a avowedly secular political party which exists only in the province of Hochelaga but is present in the national legislature of Sober Thought.

Regarding the political spectrum only, it is a big tent party representing a broad mass of people and resembling a slightly more left-wing Moderate Party. However, since its focus is restricted solely to those who live in one province, it is a small tent party representing a narrow section of people in the nation and resembling the Rural Alliance.

At the moment, it has not strayed too far from a general Hochelaga pride position tinged with a slight dose of anti-Community sentiment. It is very parochial in outlook and strongly supports provincial rights to the extent the federal government would be stunted. However, should the Péashistes develop outright secessionist tendencies, the legal mechanisms of secession or expulsion could soon be applied to Hochelaga. At that point, the internal contradictions of the party could not be sustained and it would splinter into more conventional pieces of the left-right political spectrum.

The party has neither solicited nor been solicited for membership in a coalition government.
