Known as the Purple Sea Urchins to the Pazhujebi people, the national team is, despite their general lack of experience, the pride of the country. There is no main stadium for the team; they are well known for playing games around the country to please local fans (who might have a time of finding the transport to matches on separate islands. The team will play their first competitive international matches at the Baptism of Fire for World Cup 38.

Amidst some controversy, the Pazhujeb Islands Football Association announced prior to World Cup 38 qualifying that the team would not be unisex, as many had expected. Women are as involved in football on the Pazhujebs as men are, and so the decision was met with some disdain. However, the preliminary squad, listed below, is young and sharp, so it is unlikely that any heads will roll in the administrative department for the men only decision. (PIFA has said since the publication of this article that it would not rule out a unisex national team in the future.) The team has an average age of just 20 years old, so many players could be expected to be around for a while. PIFA also announced that their Manager would be ex-Starblaydia international player and manager, two-time World Cup winner Jaime Oberlander [1].
