This article is currently under construction, much like the nation of Pfinland itself.
The Republic of Pfinland is a tiny, socially progressive nation, notable for its burgeoning reindeer population. It has a quiet, industrious population who enjoy extensive civil rights and enjoy a level of social equality free from the usual accompanying government corruption. The country's population is ethnically homogeneous with no sizable immigrant population.
The medium-sized government appears to have no policy direction whatsoever. The average income tax rate is 18%, but much higher for the wealthy. An almost nonexistent private sector is dominated by the Door-to-door Insurance Sales industry.
Crime is a problem, and the police force struggles against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. Pfinland's national animal is the Reindeer and its currency is the Euro.

Politics
The Republic of Pfinland is a sovereign, independent state. It is a representative Democracy under a Parliamentary system of Government, with a President, Prime Minister and Eduskuntar (Parliament). Pfinns enjoy individual and political freedoms, and suffrage is universal at 18.
Pfinland elects on national level a head of state - the president - and a legislature. The president is elected for a six year term by the people. The Eduskuntar has 200 members, elected for a four year term by proportional representation in multi-seat constituencies.
The President of Pfinland is the head of state of the Republic of Pfinland. The President is usually directly elected by the people for six years, and can be elected for a maximum of two terms. The presidency is largely a ceremonial office, but the President does exercise certain limited powers at his/her absolute discretion.
The Constitution of Pfinland defines the government and its shape, the relationship between the different topmost branches of the commonwealth and the rights of the individual.
