There are three tectonic plates in the Western Atlantic. They include the Vasconian, Ambaran and Gulf Plates. The Vasconian Plate has a boundary with the Ambaran Plate to the south and west and the Gulf Plate to the south and east.

The Ambaran Plate is a continental tectonic plate covering the continent of Ambara, extending westward several hundred miles into the Pacific Ocean and westward only a few miles before meeting the Gulf Plate.
