The Shakal Panscier V is among the best tanks of its kind. The Panscrier line has always been reknowned for its durability and reliablility. The V adds speed and firpower into the mix for a tank thats only major downside is the money it costs to build.
Production History
The Panscrier V was first developed in 2001 as the Panscrier IV Aug-F. It proved that the larger 155mm gun proved to heavy to maintain good accuracy as the tank moved. The Aug-F's 155mm gun was scrapped in favor of the smaller and more reliable 140mm L52 gun. In March of '02 the Aug-G made an appearance with the smalelr gun. The only problem was that the tank now lacked the heavy armor that protected the secret tanks the other nations of the world were costructing.
The entire program recieved an overhaul in 2003 when Mannstein demanded more from the tank. The project was renamed the Panscrier M-2 "Rattlesnake". The project proved very sucessful, but in light of the breakthrough provided by Wolke the Imperial Arms Corperation fell out of favor of the W-IV.
The project continued to develop utilizing the armor breakthroughs of the W-IV. Its RHAE armor rating began to reach limits unheard of by the Shakal people. Certain areas of the tank hit 1800mm protection. The tank began to regain momentum. In early 2004 the tank was called for by the army.
The real defining moment in the history of the tank is when Mannstein and the Emperor called for an updated version to be built. The tank was renamed the Panscrier V Auf-A. It demonstarted fire accurate to within 2m from 1200m while moving. The tank had 10 ordered for testing purposes.
In 2005 100 were produced and sent into Zaire. They proved massivly sucessful often taking out T-72's at 5 to 1 odds. The major flaw came in trench crossing. Its range was a mere 2.1m, not enough to cross deep fortifications built by the Zaire guerrilas. In 2006 the Panscrier V Auf-B was introduced. It was so sucessful and durable that it was overused and a major flaw was found in the guns autoloader. To rectify this in 2007 a new version was launched, the Panscrier V Auf-D.
The first true frontline version is the Panscrier V Auf-F2. It has strong enough armor protection to defend against most arms and can stand on par with the Nakil in teted combat situtations.
Armor
The Panscrier V utilizes awsome advances in armor. The ERA armor is copuled with advanced ceramic components to provide maximum protection. It utilizeds a ceramic/steel/space/ceramic/steel/heavy metal/ceramic/steel/titanium/alumnium/kevlar armored setup.
