Porcu's Military The Commonwealth of the Maxentii

The Empire of Porcu is a massive, socially progressive nation, renowned for its punitive income tax rates. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, cynical population of 1.927 billion are ruled by a mostly-benevolent dictator, who grants the populace the freedom to live their own lives but watches carefully for anyone to slip up.

It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent, corrupt government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Defence, Law & Order, and Public Transport. The average income tax rate is 100%. A powerhouse of a private sector is dominated by the Uranium Mining industry.

Popular political cartoonists are thrown in jail for inciting dissent, elevator music has been replaced by thrash metal played at maximum volume, citizens are regularly arrested in queues for 'loitering', and retirement homes are often fitted with luxurious suites. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Porcu's national animal is the bear and eagle, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the euro.

Economy

Economy - overview:

This unique, partly noncommercial economy is supported financially by an annual contribution from Roman Catholic dioceses throughout the world (known as Peter's Pence); by the sale of postage stamps, coins, medals, and tourist mementos; by fees for admission to museums; and by the sale of publications. But Porcu is also opening up to international trade which is starting to provide and even greater amount of income. Investments and real estate income also account for a sizable portion of revenue. The incomes and living standards of lay workers are comparable to those of counterparts who work in the city of Roma.

Sports

National Sport(s): Ice Hockey, Football(Soccer)

Ice Hockey:

Porcu has always found a place for hockey and its fans never seem to tire of it.
Arguably the most difficult league for hockey in all of Hyrule is in Porcu. The
NHL(National Hockey League) as it is called includes 30 teams situated throughout
Porcu. Hyrule has come to see that if they want to train their best hockey players
there is no better place than the NHL.

Football:

Football has grown immensely over the last few decades in Porcu. But again, Porcu
holds some of Hyrule's best players and teams. Porcu's Serie A is argueably Hyrule's
toughest football league. Unlike hockey, where most players are Porcuan, teams in
Serie A are from all over Hyrule, truely making football Hyrule's regional sport.
