Awards

Player of the Year

Constantine Shoreland United

The 23 year old took played well beyond his years, leading his club the their 2nd championship and their first since the inaugural Premier League season. He was one of the highest scoring midfielders, netting in 14 goals, to go along with a phenomenal 25 assists, which became a new Premier League record. His average rating was 7.91, which also became a new record, topping the one Julio Matis set in Year One. His unmatched pace and speed were primary reasons for his success, but it wouldnt have meant much if he didnt possess the maturity he has. The former U21 star and current Lions right winger did it all this season, and Shoreland United won the title because of it.

Young Player of the Year

Jimmy Kelly Captera Athletic

What a phenomenal year this 21 year striker had. He burst on to the scene with a superb brace in Matchday Two, and has not looked back since. He was a big reason for Captera's suprising 6th place finish, leading his team with 27 goals, also good enough for 2nd in the Premier League. The previous year, his first as a professional, he appeared 9 times and scored 3 goals, but the confidence that this young man possesses took him up another notch in Year Four. He ended the season with 35 appearances, 27 goals, 5 assists, 9 MofM, and a Rating of 7.62.

Goalkeeper of the Year

Derrell Lynch Captera Athletic

For the 4th consecutive year, Lynch has made the award his own. The best goalkeeper in Nedalia might be growing old, but there still is no better man in between the posts playing the Premier League. Along with Jimmy Kelly, was the main reason for Captera's suprising success this year. He played in 36 games, recording 13 clean sheets and had a Rating of 7.58. No other play has won the award other than him thus far in the Premier League.

Defender of the Year

Hans Lamm Honsfield Athletic

Possibly the most consistent player in all of the Premier League, Lamm never misses a beat. The 27 year old continues to do the job the same he started it 4 years ago with the same club, who finished in 3rd place this year because of solid play from the likes of Lamm. The Nedalian international has made the Lions RB position his, and it doesnt look like anyone will be unseating him soon. He becomes the first non-central defender to win the award, following Mohammed Khadra and Cole Zenith. Appeared 35 times, scored 4 goals, had 6 assists, got 6 MotM, and had a Rating of 7.73.

Midfielder of the Year

Constantine Shoreland United

See Player of the Year.

Striker of the Year

Contares Groftanne AC

After leading unheralded Groftanne to 7th place in the Premier League, Contares stated that he would like a contract to extend his stay in the southern Nedalian town because he loved the climate, and more importantly, he loved the people. Its safe to say that the feeling is reciprocated, after the sensational season the striker delivered. He led the Premier League in scoring after netting in 28 goals, but it was also the 26 year old's overall game that got him this prestigious award. He delivered 8 assists to go with 8 MotMs and got a Rating of 7.79. The 28 goals he scored were easily the highest of his entire career.

Foreign Report

Bettia

  • Omar Whistler: Made a successful switch from on Free Transfer to Strundanne AC, despite his clubs underachieving season...Could be classified as the catch of the season, as the 11th placed team paid nothing for the services of the midfielder...They were rewarded with 4 goals, 6 assists, 2 MotM, and a Rating of 7.35 in 31 appearances...The Bettia international is looking forward to the next year, which he hopes will top his accomplishments from this year.
  • Ziyad Farmer: Made the move from Maindy FC to Porasse FC for $1.9 million, the most expensive out of a trio of Bettian moves in the offseason...Despite that, was the least consistent of the three players, suffering from several lapses of bad spells...On his good days, plays as well as anyone, but for the midfielder, they came far and wide between...Appeared 27 times for his club, scoring only 1 goal to go with 3 assists, 0 MotM, and a Rating of 6.76...His club, however, did suprisingly well, finishing 9th over several years in Premier League obscurity.
  • Laurie LeClerc: Also made the move from Maindy FC, joining Zupera United for $900,000...The striker was the leading goalscorer for his club, who finished 14th in the Premier League...Was arguably the most impressive of the Bettians who made the switch to the Premier League this season...His 17 goals were good for 10th best in the Goal-Scorers Chart...Also added 2 assists, 3 MofM, and a Rating of 7.38.

Hockey Canada

  • Kyle Thomas: The 20 year old GK earned the starting position for his club Edensanne United when he was just 16...Was not too consistent this year, conceding 74 goals as his club finished in 13th place...Has shown signs of improvement, however, when it comes to handling corner balls, a previous weakness...Had a rating of 6.75, one of the lower ratings for starting GK...Must improve his consistency if he wants to become considered one of the Premier League's best...Very young with growing experience, has an edge over most other GKs...Potential is definitely there, now needs to act upon it.
  • Chris Kormack: 28 year old Edensanne United central defender was one of the better players on an inconsistent squad this year...His toughness is unmatched; his agility is unheard of...Gets the job done without any show to his game, but remains one of the strongest defenders, physically, in the Premier League...Had a Rating of 7.11 while appearing 37 times this year...Recorded neither a goal nor an assist.
  • Rahul Kulkarni: The 24 year old Edensanne United left winger was another Hockey Canada player who could not show the proper consistency this year...Despite his pace, he still hasnt developed the proper ball skills to beat an opponent one on one easily...Has a blistering shot, though...Recorded 3 goals in 33 appearances, to go with 4 assists and a Rating of 7.04...The team would like more crosses from him, even though that is a glaring weakness in his game...Still, on a good day, ranks as one of the better wingers in the Premier League.
  • Yannic Perrault: Another Edensanne United player, the 22 year old central midfielder was the clubs best player this season...His game has grown each season, and this year, he was considered to be one of the best central midfielders in the Premier League...Did not have much help, though, which led to his club's low League ranking...A good shot, fabulous passer, and does not negate his defensive duties...A coach's dream come true, he captained the squad for the first time in Matchday Four, and has held on to the captain's armband ever since, despite his young age...Appeared 33 times, scored 2 goals, handed out 10 assists, earned 4 MofM, and had a Rating of 7.40.

Hypocria

  • Peter Costanzo: Hypocria has only one representative in the Nedalia Premier League, and its the 25 year old right midfielder who plays for Bronkstone FC...Played well this season, helping his team to a 8th place finish, jsut about what the "experts" predicted at the beginning of the season...Featured in 30 matches, scoring 3 goals and handing out 5 assists to go with 1 MotM and a Rating of 7.21...Is enjoying his time in the Nedalian capital, and is looking to extend his contract with the club.

Krytenia

  • Ray Lausano: Netted in 19 goals for Dorpar AC this season after coming in from New Osteria, helping his new club to 4th in the Nedalia Premier League...Those 19 goals made him the 8th top scorer in Year Four...Also dished out 5 assists to go with the goals, had an final average ranking of 7.43 in 35 appearances...His touch around the goal was the primary weapon for Dorpar throughout the season...Originally came from Krytenia after Year Three for $3.6 million.

Nova Britannicus

  • Joseph Smythe: 31 year old Honsfield Athletic Goalkeeper was one of the best in the Premier League this year...Always consistent, always reliable, owns his clubs record for most games played...Recorded 16 clean sheets, playing well behind a stellar Honsfield defence, led by his country mates...Was widely considered to be Derrell Lynch main competitor for the GK of the Year award...Didnt win it, but still had a fine season.
  • Gordon Buxton: 25 year old Honsfield Athletic central defender...Made up 1/2 of the Britannicus defensive unit which led to one of the best defences in the Premier League this year...Strong, fast, and agile, Buxton has it all going for him...Uses full advantage of it as well, having developed into one of the finer defenders in the League today...Still, could improve when it comes to tempermant, as his card count remains high...Appeared 32 times, scoring 1 goal and handing out 2 assists....Didnt record a MotM but had a rating of 7.32.
  • Jimmy Trant: As good as Buxton was, Trant was even better...Easily one of the best defenders in the League, this 26 year old Honsfield Athletic central defender is also the team captain...Just as tough, fast, and agile as Buxton, but possesses a much better tempermant...Controls the backline with full authority and ease, and not so bad going forward either...Was a candidate for the Defender of the Year, but lost out to a fellow teammate...Appeared 37 times, scoring 2 goals, handing out 4 assists, had 4 MotM, and had a Rating of 7.46.
  • Henry Maitland: The 23 year old right winger remained inconsistent with tremendous flashes of brilliance, the same story as before...Honsfield Athletic continue to be frustrated by him, knowing he could easily be one of the best midfielders in the League...Has all the physical tools needed, just cant seem to get it all together...Continues to hold down the starting position simply on the fact that he could blow at any minute and explode towards the net...Tremendous offensive force that can just disappear sometimes during a game...Still, didnt have a bad statline: 29 appearances, 4 goals, 5 assists, 1 MotM, and a Rating of 7.18.

Spruitland

  • Lee Beck: The midfielder has been with Brickell United since the beginning...Had an up and down season, much like his club, which finished 10th in the Premier League...The Spruitland former U21 players scored 2 goals, handed out 2 assists to go with 0 MotM and a Rating of 6.93 in 28 appearances...Has has better, more consistent seasons...Has the talent to shine, and is still young enough to do so.

Starblaydia

  • David Bentley: The Honsfield Athletic manager suprised many when he took a somewhat unheralded squad to 3rd place in the League...The former Starblaydia international was caught in some mid-season drama when he was sent off for threatening the life of a referee...Apparently, he did not agree with an offside ruling and told the referee to "make sure he starts getting someone else to turn on his car"...Was suspended for 3 games because of those antics...Nonetheless, proved to be one of the best managers this season.
  • Julio Matis: It seems that age has finally caught up with the Starblaydi, who only appeared 14 times and scored only 3 games this season, his last as a professional footballer...Still holds the Premier League record for most goals scored in a season (31), which he accomplished in Year One...His goalscoring tally has dipped since, with 16 goals scored in Year Two and 8 scored in Year Three, bringins his total tally for his career in Nedalia to 58...Honsfield will be sad to see him go, was one of the fan favorites.
