An office in countries were there is technically a Republican system in place, but the President serves indefinitely, much like a monarch. The office is often associated with dictatorship’s and personality cults, and many governments view leaders taking such a title as illegitimate, lacking neither a democratic or royal mandate. One notable democratic exception is Sarzonia, where President Mike Sarzo serves a defacto life time term, although not without major criticism from other democratic nations.
