The President of Kylesburgh, aside form being the head of state, wields big executive powers in the government. Currently, the President of Kylesburgh is Hon. Chester T. Knutsen.

Election

The Constitution of Kylesburgh provides for a popularly-elected President to be elected every four years. Incumbents may run for unlimited number of terms.

Succession

Kylesburgh does not provide for the office of the Vice-President. In a law passed by the Kylesburgh Council in 1923, the Speaker of the Council would succeed should the President leave office or die in office; the next in line would be the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. The Kylesburgh Council would then decide whether to hold new elections or allow the successor to fill out the rest of the unexpired term.

Functions

In terms of function, the President’s main responsibility is overseeing the day-to-day functions of government. To do the work, the President is assisted by a cabinet consisting of secretaries who head different departments. The president selects the cabinet representatives, but appointment requires the approval of the Kylesburgh Council.

Residence

The President’s official residence is at 4 Kylesburgh Place. The House is colloquially called the Kylesburgh House.
