Principality
From NSwiki, the NationStates encyclopedia.
A principality is a territory reigned over by a prince. It can be either a Sovereign principality ruled by a monarch bearing the title of prince or a mere province of a larger state. In a generic sense, the word principality can be used to refer to any monarchy or even, sometimes, any state. It can also be used colloquially to refer to the area of control of any powerful individual.
