Prodigals

The term Prodigal is a racial term used in the Resurgent Dream to denote any sentient biological race or any individual sentient organism which cannot be classified as either Fae or Human. In other words, any non-human which is not Fae is a Prodigal. No Prodigal races are native to the Resurgent Dream but many Prodigals have adopted the Resurgent Dream as their country.

Prodigal immigration comes primarily from two largely different sources. Many Prodigals move to the Resurgent Dream from allied nations such as Akaton and Menelmacar. Such immigration is normally accompanied by friendly feelings on all sides with the immigrants concerned maintaining a feeling of loyalty to their homeland as well as to their adopted country.

Other Prodigals come fleeing persecution in racialist nations such as Marlund. Such refugees are normally taken in with an attitude of protecting them from their own government. Like most immigrants, they also maintain an intense interest in their homeland but this normally takes the form of opposition to the government of their homeland and support for racial equality movements there.

The two most common Prodigal races in the Resurgent Dream are Elves and Nekomimi.
