The Temple of Promenade is a Nation inside the region Peace. Intended to be a peaceful Temple, it has become one of the safests Nations in the World. Their leaders stand for their beliefs, and they work hard to achieve a balance between a safe economy, excellent life quality, perfect education and security and total disarmment.

History

The Temple of Promenade started as an isolated House where people could come in and learn from each other, talking, reading and discussing different subjects. As time passed by, more and more people wanted to be part of this project, so we started expanding our boundries to let more people in, people who shared our values and ideas. We began to organize ourselves as a society, and the result is a beautiful environment of wise human beings, always developing themselves, their family and their society.

Early Years: 1980-1983

It was in year 1980 when Maukel, a multi-disciplinarian genius of unknown origin, contacted 8 human beings, one from each continent on Earth. They were told that they were chosen to be part of an ambitious project that could change the social order of the world forever. Each one of them had special qualities and knowledge in certain areas, and they wanted to "do something different". This was their chance. After their acceptance they received airplane tickets to Punta Arenas, Chile. Why Maukel chose this location for the beginning of Promenade will never be known. In Punta Arenas they gathered and started discussing matters. Music, Politics, Violence, Sex, Ethics, Moral, Literature, Society... the mixture of opinions and feedback was so rich, it became a notorious group of intellectuals in the city. They had daily reunions, every night. This could happen in a restaurant, in a house, at the city square... any place was a good place, and that was the idea indeed.

This gatherings kept going for 3 years, and there were hundreds of people always trying to listen to this conversations, asking for advice on several matters. This wise people wanted to contribute to society, and they knew they had to create something of their own. Maukel, the wiser of them all, knew what had to be done: They had to build a Temple of Knowledge.

Foundation: 1984

This group of people, headed by Maukel decided they had to start their "something" from scratch. After recruiting another 16 members (2 more from each continent), they bought an island, between South America and Oceania and started to build the Temple with their own hands. The idea of the Temple was to have a place for discussion, with rooms, libraries and open fields to walk around just sharing knowledge. A place where you teach without knowing and learn without even asking. The 24 members lived in houses around the Temple, and Maukel lived IN the Temple. Everything there was made by hand, the blueprint made in group, and everything worked peacefully and with wisdom.

The following photography displays the 24 original members of Promenade the day when they celebrated the foundation of their society: March 22nd of 1984.

Maukel does not appear on this photography nor in any other. He has always insisted that he doesn't wants to deliver his image in photos. The only way to know him is to go directly to the Temple.

Development: 1984-?

As word spread of this Temple of Knowledge, known as The Temple of Promenade (because of the method used in learning and sharing), more and more people went to know the island, the Temple, Maukel's wisdom and the member's guidance. And so the population increased, outstandingly fast. Families started to settle in the island, and a Nation began to grow; with it, laws, educational systems, security and other matters started to be regulated by the Counsil.

Promenade continues to develop in a daily basis; cities are built, provinces are created and the Goverment makes sure everybody's needs are fulfilled and Promenade's ideals continue growing non-stop.

Sports

Soccer

During 1982, while Maukel and the group were in Punta Arenas, they founded a Soccer Team that would carry the honorable name of their project. It became popular in town, and when the group left Punta Arenas to build Promenade they kept the team running in Punta Arenas, as a legacy to the city that first gathered the group.

On October 22th of 2005 the team of Promeade was invited to join the most important Soccer Association on Earth: HFA (Hattrick Football Association), and the invitation was politely accepted.

The team was officially named -Promenade-, and they play every Sunday and Wednesday night.

The club's coach is the long-time member of Promenade Jens Pettersson, outstanding swedish mathematician and soccer-aficionado.

The player's suits are green or white, both colors associated to peace, nature and light.

The logo of the Football Association of Promenade (FAP) represents the fusion of peace, nature and light with sports. Its also of great importance how the "character" in the logo represents both a male and a female; according to the Nation's ideals, there should be no difference; thus, it would be innapropiate to put a male OR a female character in the logo.
